Hi all~
So glad to join this community. Though we are not attending this year, this Mama and her 5 children are planning for next year's burn. We are a wilderness family and have hardy homeschooled children. They are stoked!
Can't wait and have a whole year to get excited and plan.
Ready for a burn!!
Blessings~

Greetings Dirt Mother!
If you are seriously contemplating bringing your children to the playa next year, I suggest you check out Kidsville. Our website is: http://blackrockkids.org/ and our yahoogroup is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/KidsCamp/
We have over 100 families in our village each year, and it is truly THE best place to camp if you are bringing children.

Welcome Red Dirt Mother;
Wow, that's a big undertaking! Once we're all back from the playa this year, we'll be real excited about helping you plan for next year.
Just watch all the crazy posts here for awhile as we prepare for the big adventure in a few weeks and you'll know what next August will be like for you.
Also click on my profile to send me an email and I'd be happy to send you a full set of the daily newspapers that my camp, Black Rock Beacon, produces this year so your children can study them. Just provide your mailing address (if you're comfortable doing that) and I'll ship those off to you after the burn.
I've been a newspaper person all my life and I believe in keeping that spirit alive with our young people. Democracy needs informed citizens.

RDM, listen to her, she know's what she is talking about as she has a Phd in Kidsville, I'm only working on my sophmore year, but it is the bomb for the kids. Trampolines, Sock Monkey making workshops, movies at dusk, a burn barrel for smore's
Your wise to learn as much as you can in advance. But I warn you, nothing can actually prepare you for the myriiad of eye-popping moments when you get there. It will def. be worth the wait.
Oh, and welcome to Eplaya
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.
