I have a "staff BBQ" to attend, with a gardening/planter company I'm a partner in....dang, I hate those things........
of course, the staff is only about 6 people, but, with family and friends, and, the hippies that wander by and stop for food and drink........

I'm hoping to find a cardboard cutout of me and just lean it against a tree and sneak out......

Yeah, well, thanks Deb.......I'm different when it's a bunch of friends, or, hopefully friends, (meet and greet style),

but, at these, since I'm a part owner, people are falsly nice........sucking up, as such, thinking it matters.......
I know some don't give a shit about my opinions, etc. but, pretend to when they ask something, or, tell me how excited they are to make the company a success (we're still waiting to turn the profit corner, 1st year and all).........
Then, I gotta be nice and pretent I believe them.....dang.......hahahaa,
it's a fun game, I suppose........

Truth is, though, that I'm a mostly "silent" partner for a reason:
if I go to a job site and someone is screwing off or not doing their job, I send 'em packing........get the hell out, as such.....so, they don't send me to job sites anymore........my partner, is nicer that way, but, work goes awfully slow under his watch......so, I just stay clear.......

My partner is right, in his wise comment:
"Just because you work that hard, doesn't mean everyone else can or will........"

true, I say.......so, I do the "behind the scenes" stuff to keep the company going......

Ha, ygmir, I know exactly what you mean.

Many's the time I've been in that kind of a spot too. Your partner might be right but it's painful to watch the work go slow. I've been told it takes ten people to keep up to me but I don't do the niceties very well in all cases.

That's why you need the partner and he needs you. Good luck with your business plan. It's nerve-racking to have yourself out on the line like that.

And the cardboard cutout's not such a bad idea either.

that's been my M.O. my entire life.

ok, off we go, i only stopped in to sip coffee with my friends, but now i'm off to cartoon land, which in my case is our local public market.

it's the only place in rochester where over a 100 different languages are spoken at once.

god, i just love recent immigrants, they are so cute when they realize how free they are, or at least have the opportunity to be.

like little doe-eyed kids finding a whole field of toys they can play with.

Today we were going to work our butts off...but an emergency need for a ladder or two at the BWB here in Draino...sends us off to set up for party. Will probably only stay long enough to be of help then poof!

Oh well. Hey did I hear something about lots of hot dry weather?!?! How bout y'all just sent that over here to the east coast, gettin out hay crops in this year has been a BITCH! Out of the past two months I thinks we've had a grand total of about two weeks of non-rainy days, and the most they ever came in was about a three day stretch.

Sorry I haven't stopped in in a while I've been trying desperately to keep up with everything here in defaultia and failing miserably I think. Normally here things turn hot and dry (but humid as hell) and when you pull weeds in the garden they just wilt. This year, however, we've had so much rain they keep re-rooting themselves. I think I've pulled the same weeds about a dozen times already. I finally gave up and started putting Ag-Bag plastic down. We have enough of it and all it ever does is accumulate so I figured it may as well be used for something.

*grabs a glass of mead and downs it*

Well hopefully putting that plastic down will give me a little time that I can jump on now and again.

well at least there's something around here that I don't have to worry about lubricating
