Free stuff for burners
I thought it would be nice to have a thread for the giving away of useful stuff that isn't quite big enough or valuable enough to merit its own thread. I'll start.

6-gallon gas jugs
I have three 6-gallon gas jugs. The kind made out of red plastic. Good condition, I just don't need them any more.

We have a Kenmore Oasis washer and dryer sitting in our garage right now. I refuse to deal with Sears ever again. The dryer works great, the washer just needs new agitator fins. (The set is maybe 5 years old) They are in Reno, free to whomever comes and gets em! PM me if your at all interested.
Dang it, I could use those gas cans! Too far away

These will be moved to the end of the driveway with a 'free' sign on Sunday. I'm hoping somebody out there will take them!

lots of video and audio wire
A local studio just switched to HD and trashed a dumpster FULL of video and audio cables.
Bundled BNC 20', XLR, and balanced stereo wire.
I'll most likely bring all the audio cable unless someone is specifically looking for video cables.

I've got dozens of the gallon jugs (anti-freeze, motor oil, etc.) with the handle, that, I filled with left over concrete, even in the handle, that would make good weights for holding stuff down. flat on two sided, handle to tie to.
and may have a couple HDPE food grade opaque white barrels, with 2" threaded caps.
7 10 ply, load range E, 16" tires, some studded M&S

I have a pair of short black leather harness biker boots, size 7M, the kind you just stick your foot into, no zipper or laces. Finger loops at the top to pull them on with. One inch heel, eight inch shaft, vibram soles. Very good used condition. Free to a good home if you pay shipping (should be about $10~12)
Already broken in, I love them, but my feet changed size when the arthritis kicked in.

300 amp Lincoln industrial A/C arc welder, buzz box.
Single phase.
Old and super heavy, but, will weld all day.
It has one bad relay switch, that, can be cleaned (I had it done once).
It trips the breaker if the switch is dirty and bouncing.
It's been sitting a long time, so, I might as well share it.
lots of 2x6 all heart redwood blocks, up to about a foot long.
I don't want them to be kindling, though. I'd like them to go to a higher use, footings and stuff because they don't rot.

mmm I love hats too...
When I was younger every girl pretty much had stick-straight Marcia Brady hair and I had wild Janis Joplin hair. I hated it. I even resorted to ironing it on the ironing board and that worked pretty good except for the ridge at the top where I couldn't get the iron any closer to my head.
My other hair hiding resource was hats and I've loved them ever since. I no longer hate my wild curly hair though...

I'd love to have wild Janis hair.
I have what can only be deemed as "unfortunate" hair. No other descriptor covers it quite as well.
Thin, limp, oily, prone to breakage (if it hasn't already fallen out from the root). Bunches of it tend to warp out at unattractive angles with absolutely no regard to the angles the other bunches are taking -- giving it a sadly neglected look no matter what I do to it (so truthfully, I pretty much let it do what it wants now right from the get-go, and just grimace and stick my tongue out at it if I happen to see it in the mirror).
I have just recently discovered the saving graces of hats.
Sure is nice to have someone staring at your head for some reason other than your.... unfortunate.... hair!
....So of course I had to pm Mojo on this the second I saw it (which was immediately after she'd posted it). It looks like I (and/or one of my still quite insufficiently decorated crew) might be wearing it out there this august.
Just have to sift thru the 300 immediate ideas of "stuff to go with" that weren't there previously and settle on something doable.
....bit of a mindshift, this acquisition has become.... quite a welcome one at that!!!
Thank you, Mojojita!!!! We'll see if I can do it justice!!!

I have so much damn stuff..
Tryed to sell at garage sales.. People would'nt even come up the drive.. A lot of them come in about four blocks to our dead end.. look over there dash and leave.. WTF is with that..
Were talking hand tools power tools building supplies electric and electronic and on and on.. For next to nothing, already..
Took the best to a indoor swop meet.. Didn't even make table money.
Anything I put on craig's list, some one ansewers w/do you want to give that away?..
Next I'm going to try something new. I'm into renting a swop meet table and cover it with stuff for free.. All good stuff.. Then at the end of the table a donation box to help pay for my dentel work..
All I will hope for is 25$ table cost..
Could put a camp and playa supplie mess togeather and see if Portland BM chapter would want to make a road trip.. Have bunch of scrap project junk to part with too..Free
After that it's going to the dump or recycle.. But I'll fuck it up so no one picks thro it again..
I plan a free table for My BM camp this year. Have a bunch of pee jugs and odd camp gear set aside already.. Just picked up a compartmented box for nuts and bolts and spring and thing for one of the bike repair camps..
Only need 3500 for some upper teeth.. 6000 for the lot.. Damn that denest drives a nice car..

Unjon, can I get an email?
Maybe you have some stuff I need, and maybe I can help you figure out how to market some of that stuff.
Some places tools are way down with the economy.
May have some things that sell better other places.
Some stuff does better on ebay.
I sold a bunch of stuff that woudn't sell locally.
Took years to sell gradually, but I got $5000 for what I was looking for $500 for a quick sale.
Some things had a market in one part of the country, not others.

Larger things like a 7hp Honda hor shaft pump motor. Or a 11hp vert shaft B&S.. Heavey duty 24volt scooter motor. Also a 12volt (store) scooter(very old model). Just crap to move out.. Must dig deeper,, Big pile
I'd be interested in the 24 volt.
Hopefully I can help you market some of this stuff.
Fyi nostagia stuff sells better than tools, if you have anything like that.
Craigslist has leveled the field on a lot of stuff, but prices vary a lot from place to place.
A lot of it is figuring out where the market is.
I plan on doing an email list, like the early craigslist, as I go through everything after I get it moved out.
Anything not selling will end up free.
