flag-pole fabric art; how to?

I've seen several versions of this kind of flag art on the playa. Does anyone have info on "how to" build and design stuff like this?

I'm not use to sewing fabric and I think my own ideas might turn to shit. but if someone has some actual instructions i would be very interested in making some.. they are just sooooo beautiful!

I AM a seamstress. Started out making wedding gowns back before evolution started. Anyway, I think these flags are all about the shape of the fabric & the important part is sewing a header for the pole to be inserted. Then they would need to be attached somehow so that the flag did not just fly off the pole.

I personally would like to do some sort of prayer flag display with a camp with materials for EVERYone to make one for me to hang.
