what day is it?

Post by Liz Estrada » Tue Jul 21, 2009 5:10 pm

thank you sir, may i have another.

it's been one of those days, you know?

i was walking down the street the other day, on my moop patrol, picking up pieces of castaway toys, here in toyland, and i found this little, dirty childrens book...

wait, let me rephrase that, it was a childrens book that had dirt all over it, like it had been buried for awhile.

it's small, and easily missed, but because i'm an asshole, i picked it up....more crap for me, is my motto...

i digress.

it turns out the book was made in ontario canada, in 1986.

it's called "the dark"

by Robert Munsch, illustrated by Sami Suomalainen

wtf kind of name is THAT? i digress.

anyway, i think i found one of those stupid playa schwag bullshit to give to someone who doesn't think they need it, but someday might realize that at that point in their lives they just didn't know it yet.

ya know?

thanks for the double....i am going out to actually drink tonight in defaultia.

i haven't got drunk in quite a while now.

it's tee-totaler tuesday, so fuck it!

We always seem to miss each other here Liz...

Anyway, time for a cocktail. Lemonade and vodka. Someone told me the name the other day, but I forget it now.
It's going to be alright.

Busy kinda day in here. Sorry to miss all you good folks - Tisha, Liz, Joel, Sputnik, Oldguy

Spent the early afternoon with Mozy playing stump the bartender and giving Monkeypoo hugs. Hope your day's going well.

Finished some chores today. That's progress. Getting ready to pack the trailer up for the burn. Changed the oil, checked the fluids. Got a belt that needs changing too - darnit. Always a little something.

~time for a drink, where's Mozy when you need 'im~

well, sugar. I was gonna play a tune but YouTube is down.

I'm a pretty good barkeep. Here, have one of my favorite playa drinks...vodka and pickle juice. It really wowed 'em in 06.
It's going to be alright.

Sputnik, how you doin'

I swear you must have a sour side! Piss and vinegar and now pickle juice. I always thought of you as kinda sweeeet.

I'll try it, just one though.

With YouTube down we'll have to make our own music! Do you know any campfire tunes?

I'm doing good, and oddly enough I do prefer sour drinks for some reason. Must be to provide the balance I crave.
It's going to be alright.

Nice camp fire tunes.

Wonder why I couldn't get YouTube to work earlier - said it was down for maintenance.

That pickle juice gives me Pucker Power! Nice, though better than the much too sweet drinks.

Just noticed I didn't get all the oil off my hands, now my keyboard needs a bath! Yuch.

Not sure what vicodin is for - pain, maybe?

May I pour you a drink, Crypto?

Sputnik has this lovely vodka and pickle juice thing or will you have something a little tamer?

No pickle juice for me. Reminds me of anmiotic fluid and gives me claustraphobia.

Yeah Deb, vicodin is for pain. This is what Erowid has to say about it:
Hydrocodone (Vicodin) is an opiate agonist, analgesic and antitussive used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. It is primarily available in combination with other analgesics such as acetaminophen/paracetamol, aspirin, or ibuprofen.
The further caution:
Many hydrocodone preparations contain analgesics such as acetaminophen, which can be toxic to the liver in high doses.
It's going to be alright.

Sputnik, better hide the pickle juice, Crypto has an aversion to it.

Nice Dark Eyes set.

Mozy, can I get something for you - ice water? Still waiting to see if Crypto wants something to drink.

Why is it addictive?

Last fall some idiot doctor tried to prescribe me oxycotin for a tooth ache. I reported him to the medical board for pushing drugs.

Let me tell you a story about my brother in law.
Nice enough guy didn’t use drugs had a wife kids went to school to be a sheriff.
Ended up working for a pharmaceutical company. His job was to go to doctor offices and drop off samples.
Fast-forward two years. We get a call that he was fired. Month later we get a call that he was arrested for passing forged scrip’s.
As he was in jail his wife gets arrested 2 days later for the same thing with her kids in the car. She gets bailed out same day does it again.
I could go on but you get the point.
They both lost everything for some vicoden pain relief.

Mozy, that is such a tale of woe.

I've seen some stories like it. I worked on contract as a fundraiser for a homeless shelter for a year. I think if you took away all the prescription addictions, you'd have had 60% of the problem solved.

Just wish someone could be with Monkeypoo, to give her a real hug, just now. It must be hard to deal with. And I don't know her pain issues.

As Sputnik said, it's late here. After midnight now. You two duke it out and I'll come through later to clean up the spilled milk.

g'night all.
