Experienced Burner, New to the Forum.
Greetings. This is my first time using this forum. I would like to introduce myself as FROZE. I have attended Burning Man for ten, nonconsecutive years, and this year will be year eleven, that is, if I am able to acquire a ride. I am supposed to be volunteering this year, but like I mentioned, I do not have means of getting to the event [yet] this year. Anyone with any advice on rides, or any method of getting there, please respond- anything helps. I am financially able to fund all my expenses, but do not have a driver's license :( Help anyone?
~FROZE~

I dont have a drivers license, this will be my 3rd year getting to the burn without one
I get to burning man from chicago by Amtrak Train.
I take local public transit to the Amtrak station, ride the train to Reno.. then when I am in Reno (I stay a night) and take a Bus to the RENO AIRPORT.. from there I catch the BIOBUS (Space) SHUTTLE up to black rock city..

Hiya FROZE, welcome to ePlaya. I recommend getting on the Colorado Burning Man list. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Colorado-BM/messages
Colorado is sending 16 officially registered theme camps to the Playa this year (perhaps a few more will be added later) and there are a few more non-registered theme camps as well. (Not that it's a competition, but that makes Colorado number 5 in the world in terms of number of theme camps.)
The registered ones so far are:
Altitude Lounge
Arachnaphobia
Astral Headwash
Atrium
Bodymod
BRC Welding and Repair
Camp Welcome
Contraptionists
Energy Riders
HeeBeeGeeBee Healers
Mischief Camp
Purple Palace
Pod of Bliss
Spin Art Camp
Whisky and Dust
Xpat Aliens
Many of these camps have URLs and contact e-mail listed on this site under Theme Camps. Bet you could send out a request on the yahoo group or e-mail a theme camp and get a ride. Good Luck!

Thanks, I'll probably do that if all else fails. But how do you get all your supplies there? Sufficient water and food? Do you have someone you meet up with, or do you just backpack it all?
