RV water fill up

Post by dragonpilot » Wed Jul 22, 2009 9:09 pm

Anyone know off hand if the Cedarville gas station will let us fill up our RV water tanks? Trying to reduce weight as much as possible before the playa. What about Alturas if Cedarville is a no-go? Or Lakeview? (We're coming down from Paisley, OR).

We're willing to pay, of course.

Don't know where Paisley is but if you are going from Alturas to Cedarville, then going through Lakeview is out of your way...

I have heard that the Cedarville gas station will fill you but never done it myself.

Yes, unless something has changed, the Cedarville gas station owner is very burner-friendly and stays open extra hours, and even has a barbeque going.
I usually fill my water in Alturas, CA anyway, so I'm not waiting until the LAST possible place, just in case something goes wrong.

I take a similar route and would also like to avoid hauling 1000 lbs of water over the cascades. Where are you filling tanks in Alturas? I'll be needing 140ish gallons...

Paisley (Summer Lake Hot Springs) is north of Lakeview, and we usually drive past the turn off for Cedarville to Alturas, top off/more shopping, and doubleback to the Cedarville turnoff...just adds a few miles/minutes.

Sounds like the C'ville GS will do the job. I'll give 'em a call to confirm.

Cedarville Water

Post by toastondaplaya » Thu Aug 27, 2009 12:55 pm

I just confirmed with the guy at the Cedarville Gas Station that they will be open 24 hours starting tomorrow (Friday). They will have water available for people to fill RV's, barrels etc.

A mechanic will also be available 24 hours a day as well.

:-)
