Water storage? Personal favorite?

What is everyone's favorite water storage method?

I went last year with someone who had 15 gallon stand up drums complete with hand pump. It was wonderful. What is your favorite method? ... Do you know where to find them?

PS: How well do you think I can keep hydrated on my homebrew beer? :-) And how well can you keep hydrated on my homebrew?

I always buy the 2.5 gallon 'suitcases', but given that I fly in I really have no choice. PBR is my preferred method of 'hydrating'. Cheap and watery.

For water I bring several 6 gallon containers and use them to fill a 2 1/2 gallon container that has a spigot.
Beer is not the greatest beverage for hydration, it is a diauretic-you piss most of it away and it takes a lot of water for your liver to process the alcohol.

I have a friend bring a 250 gallon tote and 2-3 55 gallon drums for my squirtgun and such.

I bring what my RV can hold + two 20 gallon drums for refilling it again(for showering and toilet uses)

for drinking I bring 5 five gallon water bottles /w pump for the top and 2 of those 4 gallon blue jugs with spigots on them.

Showering, toilet use and a kitchen sink? Maybe several kitchen sinks.. I guess you can never have too much fresh drinking water when you are in the middle of nowhere... but it still sounds loony. :-)

I never said anything about using the kitchen sink.

We don't use that....it would require more water !!!

most of the water is for the my squirtgun....it's REALLY big.

So huge it must be inspected and approved....and did I mention it is green? and it doesn't just shoot water!

Blue plastic 55 gallon drum: $15 on craigslist
Harbor freight hand crank pump for manual operation
Harbor freight 12v pump for powered operation

We have two drums this year. The GF is bringing a water refillable air pressurized 2 gallon fire extinguisher as her "squirt gun".

Sheesh...NEVER get in a water fight with a firefighter.

We called up a local water store, you know the place that rents out the office coolers. They saved several of those big water jugs, filled them up and capped them for $5 a piece. Much cheaper than buying water jugs at the camping store.

I live within a days drive from the Playa. I haul my water frozen in 3 liter bottles that I save. I prefer the taste of my own tap water. I'm bringing 8 of 'em, frozen in a coleman box.

I aso bring vitamin waters, snapple juices, and flavored teas that I put on my bikes. I'll buy ice on wednesday and saturday and put it in empty 3 liter jugs. I'm bringing two gallons of bottled water for quests to drink. I have a water shower bag I also fill at home, but that's for washing. I have two other iceboxes that I use, one for non-perishable food and one for perishable food, (keeps the dust out).

Figure a gallon or two a day minimum, hydrate when rising, every half hour even if your not thirsty, double it up at mealtimes, and when you are working hard...It's better than getting IV fluids in the med tent...

Hmmmmmm...........Be careful what you offer........grey water is a bitch to get ride of when all your guest have used the kitchen sink.

These are a good size, not too heavy to pour, but small enough to fit into the car in the empty nooks, and small enough to put in the freezer as well.

Twin City Surplus in Reno advertises a 15 gallon barrel for $20. Full it would weigh about 125#. They have containers up to .6,000 gallonsl

One gallon milk jugs, washed, filled and frozen. They'll be kept in a cooler with dry ice. Thawed as needed.
