Hey goathead;

The concert was wonderful! There were several sections but my favourite part came after the intermission with Stravinsky's Rite of Spring Symphony.

The young woman we went to see, Liz (whose mother is a Toronto burner), was fantastic. It was a thrill to watch a person consumed with joy as she played the cello.

Over five hundred of Canada's best young musicians apply to play in this orchestra every summer. Only 100 are chosen. They practice for the month of June and then tour for the rest of the summer on full scholarship.

Liz was just awarded a full scholarship for her second year of study at the University of Chicago.

Sounds like a wonderful evening.

It was a gorgous eveing here when I got to work.
Got myself a cup of coffee and watched the jackrabbits play on the lawn here, just watched the sunset before I got started this eveing.

well, the weather wasn't much to write about today. It stopped raining long enough to get into the concert without getting soaked and it had stopped by the time we were out. It's warm though so it's a gentle warm rain.

I'm going to have to cut my grass again. It keeps growing so much but it needs to stop raining long enough for me to cut it! I don't mind the rain usually but this is crazy - it's rained every day for a week. Much more than normal for this area at this time of year.

Sometimes the simple things like jackrabbits and sunsets really are the best pleasures in life.

Just pulled out my Haynes book for the truck camper. I need to figure out what to do about the squealing belt. Maybe I just need to change the belt but it could be something else so I'm going to read up on it.

Seems it has most of my favorite things in life in it.

I so tired this morning though...tried to sleep in...but...waking up was worth it!

Morning my sweets,

Just making my way up to the bar (hey, its 5 oclock somewhere). Getting very nervous about things but managing. So much to do. Missing everyone like crazy. My cat is also getting nervous.

So I come to SF Thursday on the 27th. Still haven't heard from my friend to see if I will be getting an early pass so this means that I gotta find lodging between Thursday and Sunday night (or Very Early Monday). GOing to host a yard sale next Saturday for some extra cash for a hotel, hostel, anyplace. I could find a campground but I don't want to be kept hostage by my coolers. I wouldn't mind working somewhere as a bus boy at some cafe to keep me busy and maybe working for a room. Or just get a ride to the front gate before the burn opens. There maybe my friend who is getting in early could check in and help me get in early when I am there. dunno. We'll see. Just another one of life's little adventures.

Just back from a road trip to CO and back........ I drove about 1300 miles yesterday, 21 hours straight....dang....got in at 3:30 am, woke up with the sun (of course), so, am up,,........but groggy.........
