What might be a friendly encounter with LEO can go bad if when they ask you for ID and you go to retrieve it from your bedroom where your wife is asleep and as you walk into your bedroom you realize the cop is right behind you, walking into your bedroom with you, where your wife lays sleeping. You might find yourself mad, since it is your house.

3 am one morning, pulled over, officer had his sidearm out
found myself flat on the ground with his knee on my neck and cuffed.
with in 10 minutes I was back on my way to work.

so should I be a bitch because they where looking for an armed robber and pulled me over?

Willie Brown of all people (but I really should admit that whatever i may think of him, he's much better at reading people than I, as his political success proves) said something that makes a lot of sense in understanding the whole thing.

Good news, civilization is sinking fast:

A Rasmussen Reports poll finds that 44% of Americans believe Obama has done poorly in dealing with the situation over the last week. Meanwhile, 30% said Obama's handling of the situation was good or excellent, and 18% feel he's done a fair job, according to the poll.

A Pew Research Center report out today has similar results, with 41% saying they disapprove of Obama's response, while 29% approve.

The Rasmussen poll results show a distinct split by racial lines. Almost eight in 10 African Americans said Obama did a good or excellent job in his response, while only 23% of whites concurred.

Too true. It's funny. You know what gets me more than people who are racist? People who deny that racism exists. I guess it's much easier to believe in a fair and just world where good things happen to good people and bad things happen to those who "deserve" it.

Unfortunately, Obama helps fuel the theory for many whites that we live in a color blind nation. I'm already so tired of people telling me how they are not a racist because they know and like a friend/cousin/neighbor/local merchant who is black. Now, I have to listen to them tell me how they aren't racist because they voted for Obama.

If I flip a LEO a ration of SHIT
I have a pretty good idea that I will wind up in jail.

yeah, I think it had less to do with skin color, more to do with attitude of privilege..........and, a left wing professor with a chip on his shoulder.
And, a cops attitude of "power"......

the combo is often explosive, and, I see often, it's easiest to play the "race card", not only to avoid being chastised for actions, but, the media (who plays most of this stuff up), loves it........

i am not sure what you are referring to. i can find little outside the blogs to indicate that crowley falsified his report. yes, i see the obvious discrepancy between the police report and the statement by the lady who called 911, but i also see a motive for that lady to lie, as she is having her name dragged all over the place with a racist label. AND she said in the call that the men were hispanic ... she just isn't that credible, unless, of course, you really want to believe what she is saying. but perhaps you are referring to something else?

which is not to say that racial profiling doesn't happen, of course it does.
