How to tie knots

Post by Timezone LaFontaine » Sun Jul 26, 2009 9:31 pm

I found this site with animated step-by-step instructions for tying many kinds of knots. The link will take you directly to the trucker's hitch, which is useful for tying down tarps. But you can get to any or all others from that page as well. Might help some folks with their shade.

There is no single "trucker's hitch". There are many.

and that "trucker's hitch " isn't the most commonly used one in trucking either. (loads or tarps).

Cool site though.........

Yup, that is the one I use most often too, It also works great for tying down my carport with rope at BM.

SO and OED; that's the same knot I use but I didn't know it was called a trucker's hitch; I've always called it a tarp hitch. Not that it matters what it's called but it's a good easy knot to tie AND to untie.

A bowline is a sail, or the rigging that goes with it.
