Funding for NASA
Funding for NASA
Many Americans are awed at the idea of space exploration. Even without consideration for it’s practical applications many of us are excited by the idea of pushing forward into the final frontier. However, in the current economic state funding for NASA is far behind on most Americans priority list. The next place to look for funding is the private sector. Some have facetiously suggested commercial transportation to the moon. But the idea is laughed at because no one in their right mind would vacation in such a harsh and unaccommodating environment. What would possibly be an appeal to visiting the moon?
But I say there is an overlooked market.
The Burners! You are the few people crazy enough to vacation surrounded by nothing, in a climate that no human beings can very long survive in. I propose moving burning man to the moon to better fund NASA! The amount of preparation and materials needed wouldn’t be that much different.
Besides it sounds like some of you think the Black Rock Burning Man is getting too trendy.
So how about it?

ok troll, you want meat?
i'll give you some kielbasa, motherfucker.
how's this...put this in your pipe and launch it.
keep in mind this is an original limerick, and it is trademarked.
an astronaut, let's call her alice
used a dynamite stick as a phallus
but while on the shuttle
it rammed up her butt-hole
and now she is spread over Dallas.
NASA.....need another seven assholes, oops i mean astronauts.

I can think of LOTS of reasons to mine the moon and to have a base there. Main reason is that it is a great place to re-acclimate to gravity if you have been in zero G for a long time.
Also, if you are going to launch something heavy to use as a gravity tractor to deflect an asteroid headed to Earth, it is much easier to launch it from the moon than from Earth.
Also, if you have a manufacturing process that requires a vacuum, well, you got all the vacuum you can eat there and it is much easier to work there than in orbit because when you set something down, it stays there. You can pour a cup of coffee ... like is more normal-ish ... or could be.
Lots of reasons. Without space travel, humanity is doomed.
