Shooting Ranges
So a bunch of our crew are continuing to camp in a few different areas for another week or so after the burn (as we do every year) for a good decomp phase. A lot of us like to shoot, obviously not allowed on the playa around BM, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other areas out in the desert between Reno and the playa where it is ok to shoot. I'm looking for outdoor ranges obviously. The only one I know of for sure is the Fernley Hills Shooting Range. But I figured I would ask some of you burners. Maybe some of the locals know some spots. Doesn't have to be an actual organized range, but it does need to be legal. We are not trying to go shooting on someones private property or anything like that.
Thanx...

Shooting Outdoors
Generally, for any area not designated a "no shooting" or "congested area," shooting is allowed 1,000 yards from any dwelling or structure. Your backstop and "down range" area must be secure from pedestrian, livestock, or vehicle traffic. Safety is of the greatest importance because of your individual responsibility to ensure public safety. You are responsible and liable for your actions.

And thank you wedeliver. Yea thats all basic common sense shit. Reason I was looking at a range is cause they generally have objects to shoot at.. Cars, barrels, etc... Shooting rocks just isn't as fun hahaha.

You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.
