Front bumper water rack for vans with rain gutter

Post by DoctorIknow » Thu Aug 13, 2009 10:18 am

I've been carrying too heavy a load up to the playa for years, and besides installing "helper springs" on the rear leaf springs, I figured it best to put as much weight on the front of the van to help balance the load.

So, the 500 lbs of water goes on the front, without welding anything.

There are many photos in the link below, with text, if anyone is interested in seeing how this system works:

You need to patent that. That is a way cool system. It could be used for four wheelin with maybe three or four, 5 gallon cans so as not to put as much weight on the front end that 500 lbs does. It would probably F/U the approach angle though if one was to be going down a steep ravine that abruptly levels out or goes up the other side. Gonna keep that system in mind.
