Removing Artwork?

Post by fluttertunnel » Thu Aug 13, 2009 10:09 pm

I'd appreciate any thoughts or insights into removing artwork during the event. I am facilitating a large-scale installation, and the majority of our group wants to de-install on Saturday, before the man burns. Many have to leave right after the Temple burns, leaving a scant few to potentially de-install on Monday, hence the need to take down on Saturday.

Any gut reactions?

if they are staying for the temple burn , then Sunday is a great day for tearing it down.
We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.

I'd say do what you gotta do. Lots of art is burned and otherwise consumed throughout the week.

It's your art. Do as you please.

Set it up on Monday, burn it up on Tuesday and enjoy the rest of the event.
