So the wife and I are coming out... cough umm.. TO the Man for the first time. We are both artists but haven't really been working in the arts for years and we are finding that we may just be old fuds at being creative. We'll make a try though.
Any way I did start a google map for driving directions with some local knowledge. We make a trip part way west a couple of times a year. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&m ... 1591aab948
Anyone want to caravan let us know or maybe we'll see you along the way. Leaving Indiana on the 29th eearly!
I could volunteer for radio DJ work if there is any. Did some once at a community radio station here.

Hi zerosomething;
As goathead says, don't worry about it and he speaks from experience!
There's quite a community of old fuds there so you'll feel right at home. You'll know by the volume which camps to stay clear off with the kids and their music. The rest of us seek out live music and a different vibe.
As for radio stations, there are about 12 FM stations. If Tribe was working right now I could get you a list but its down at the moment. When it comes back up I'll try to remember to copy and paste that list over here.
Best wishes for a safe journey. Are you taking I 80 or I 70?

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'll have to confess I like most music even what the kids listen to now. well some of it anyway. Deb. I think we will do 70 to St Louis then run up to 80 it's the route I know best through that area.
goathead you brew? I though about making a 5gal keg to bring but just never could get things to gather to do it.
We'll see you all there possibly.

Hi zerosomething;
Oh sorry, I guess I left the impression I didn't like the new music. Actually it's just the volume that grates a little. Most burners bring ear plugs to be able to sleep since the music is 24/7 and I'd highly recommend you throw a few pair in for you and your spouse.
Tribe is still down so I'll get those radio stations tomorrow hopefully.
You'll have an easy time finding Goathead and me. Our camps are side by each on Revolution Rd. He's at Home Brew camp and I write for the Black Rock Beacon newspaper. Be sure to look for your daily newspaper in the news boxes around town or drop in to our camp to get one.
see you on the playa,
Deb

Hi zero…
Welcome to eplaya and I hope you have a wonderful first burn. I won’t be able to make it this year, sadly, but that’s alright. The drive out there is as much a part of the event for me as the event itself. I’ll definitely miss that part of it.

Deb thanks for the tip. Now that you mention the constant music, I get it now. That can be trying I expect. Thanks for the earplug tip.
I think I got a small gig with BMIR 94.5 but it might be nice to try one of the others. And yes I noticed Tribe seems to be having some issues lately.
see you all there.
