Anyone know how to work with EL wire?

Post by conweb2 » Sun Aug 16, 2009 3:39 pm

I bought a couple about a hundred feet of EL wire that I wanted to use to sew into clothing. I bought the power sources to go with it. But I don' have any instructions. Can anyone help me? :?

Hands on workshops are the best, but maybe this will help a little:

Check your local listings for classes.

Where did you buy it? Most of the EL wire sites have picture and video tutorials on how to hook it all up.

There are others...

There is a thread in q & a about using optical fiber to avoid the issues with elwire flex.

I like http://www.thatscoolwire.com
There's a 5% discount with this code: 10CV

I don't know if they sell it the cheapest or not, but some of their kits make it really easy, and plus, they have how-to videos on the site.

I bought the sound reactive set and sewed it onto the outside of my faux fur coat.
