The best thing about burning man...

Post by burnfree » Sat Aug 15, 2009 11:04 am

Almost no black people!!

And you should have heard that old coot Larry Harvey one year try to explain why there were so few blacks at BM. It was at one of those rambling speeches he gives to a crowd of drooling burners...

He sounded like a racist douchebag!! His type of racism is FAR worse than my type. He thinks he is not a racist. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Maybe I'll start a camp next year where we'll bus in some fresh air kids.

Why would anyone think they knew the ethnic makeup on the playa?
With tans, sunscreen, dust, stains, body paint, costume and strange hair all at once, how would you know?

I remember trying to figure out the background of a couple of my friends for a long time before giving up.
Every time the light hit them differently, I became more mystified.
I didn't find out until the next time I saw them, the next year.

In 2007, I had an interview with Larry and this was one issue which I raised. Essentially Larry indicated that it was not up to the organization who bought the tickets or to market those tickets to specific groups. He said that these varied communities would become more aware over time when one or two enjoyed the event and went home to entice and encourage their friends to join them on the playa.

If money is an issue Larry said that they offered low income tickets to encourage a diversity of socio-economic groups.

To measure the community's diversity a question was added to last year's Census asking you to self-identify as being from a minority community if you were. I believe this is forward thinking to set a base line and then watch to see if those numbers increase.

I'm not sure that any other event makes any specific effort to be more inclusive. There are no restrictions whatsoever as to who can buy a ticket from anywhere in the world.

My first year was in 2005 and being Canadian and from a very diverse city, I was shocked by how "white" the event was and even said so in an editorial meeting at the paper. However in the intervening years, the mix of minorities has certainly increased.

There are no maybes on the playa. Either you do, or you are dreaming.

As you see Burnfree has left the scene. No debating his limited observation of mankind either of BM or of Larry.

I really wanted to ask about he was loved during his homelife or if he's an excon. Without love as a child all you know and become is Hate.

Hopefully he doesn't hold Hitler in high esteem, but who would hold a psycho, half jew and incestuous person on a pedestel except someone with a deform opinion of soceity and BM.

oh. leave the poor little gay kid alone, snowah....

he's not even going to the burn, so if he wants to digitally masturbate to scenes of the "night Porter" while typing paranoid delusional drivel devoid of fact or reason then let him...

it's a free e-playa.

the thing is, you would expect such a shit shoveler to be able to take the smell of others flinging poo instead of running to the mods and crying like a small child having a temper tantrum because the toy in his happy meal is missing.

just an observation.

U Dougly, we should be honored to have most of Simon's socks show up and talk shit.

Notice none of them said anything about the original's posters comments! Seems more to like a Nazi then a Jew

Nice person, But no friend of mine and of Larry's

And he has this thing about some underlying fixation to be a anal fucking homosexual! So call me gay I don't find it offensive for I am not and nor do I have a problem with people acting natural but I know that you do because you'r an intolerant person.

Closet case

And Freeburn please answer my question, are you an excon and did both of your parent love you? Were you like Hitler, a bastard, fathered by a jew and abandoned?

It that why you hate because you have never known love?
