What do you all recommend for head-to-toe body paint? What's in those sprayers at BM -- just food coloring and water?

I'd say ask Zane or Stephen Bradford; both have a pretty extensive knowledge of body poaint. I haven't seen either one posting lately, though. Might try shooting them a message.

Also, there was a really great list of links on the old eplaya under tips and tricks. Might try looking there.

I'm always leary about the latex, as some people are sensitive to it and can break out, get skin rashes.
I use Aquacolors or airbrush makeup. I get my supplies from FX Warehouse in Florida. They also have UV Blacklight makeup

My two cents worth, which is about it is worth: Regarding liquid latex, it's fine on most women, but on men, if you're hairly (like yours truly) it is almost impossible to get off without somehow injuring yourself. Two burns ago I was abducted and taken to the Diviant Liquid Latex Lounge and, in all fairness, had a most enlightening and fun experience. The problem was, when I got back to the unreal world (all that exists away from the playa) trying to remove the latex from my chest, nipples, and, uh, netherregions, was a tortuous task. I would recommend something a bit more water soluable. And Ivy is right, contact Zane and he can give you pointers; most of which he'd do personally.

Having played with liquid latex before the secret to using it on a hairy body is to put some kind of lotion on before applying the latex. Use any kind of commercial lotion that will leave a slick sheen on the hairy parts of your body. Then the latex does not actually "stick" to the hair. The latex will set up but only stick to itself and not you you. Pulling it off is a TON easier if you do this first.

This does not apply to the hair on the top of you head ... I don't think lotion will work here..

As for latex on the playa... I don't know... It's not a breathable coating.. will get hot quickly... won't let the sweat go anywhere... I don't know..

I am looking for someone who knows how to do Mehndi, the art of henna dying your body - it stays on for at least a week. It seems like it would be too hard to paint my own hands and face, etc. If you know how to do this, I will bring the supplies !! It would be so much fun to have a painting party and do everyone, but I only have enough money for one kit... it's like $20-30. I saw one at an art supply store.

Goodvibe... Just go to Mehndi Camp and they will be happy to do you up.. and even happier if you bring supplies and participate. I know there was one right next to Center Camp in 2003. I have a feeling you'll find the crowd you want right there... happy hunting !!!

Also... There are cheaper places to get Henna supplies. I buy mine on-line, but can't remember the URL at the moment.. They have these pre-mixed tubes that are really conveinent for traveling around, but are not as good as fresh henna. I'll see if I can find that URL and post it or send it to you...

Been a way from the board for a long time. Got frustrated with the new format.

Anyways, If you want something really long lasting chaeck out either Badger Tattoo colors for airbrush, or better, Michael Davies AGP2.

These can last a day or two, if you've washed your skin thoruoughly before application.

How do people clean off the body paint? I'm wondering, if you paint your body, your whole body, by the next day it's going to be looking and feeling rough and you might be wanting to take it off. Since you pack your own water in and out, what do the body painted do? I know you can wash it off, I'm just having a block imagining how that works with limited water. Doesn't that paint require a good scrub and rinse?

Sparkletarte (great name) - Come to the Human Carcass Wash at Poly Paradise and we can get "un-colored" there. You don't even have to bring water.. though we always appreciate donations. It's basically run like a car wash for people where everyone has to work the line before they can get cleaned. HOWEVER, fully painted people get "emergency" service - that is, they don't work the line because they will only spread the color to others, and we use extra water and 2 scrub cycles. Most fully colored people (as opposed to transparent people?) tend to walk away still tinted, but looking much more normal than when they came up. I have a feeling that it takes several showers in the "civilized" world before you are no longer completely tinted.

Search around.. I gave a full description of the Human Carcass Wash in another post somewhere..

Ill be bringing my airbrish---depending on how long the person im painting wants the art to last ill use different mixing mediums with the paint. Alcohol based will last all week provided you do not TRY and take (scrub)(very hard) it off in a shower. Water based will last a day or so and comes off easily without TRYING with water. I do my whole body in white. blue, silver etc and use the alcohol base and it stays the whole week with minimal touchups.(the picture if it is still the right one posted is day four)...then again i use superglue to glue those damn horns to my head.......depends on your dedication...still looking for the invite to a gay friendly camp looking for some fun and wild hot girlz and boyz.......
