Here's the one I have: The Coleman Grill-Stove:

It's great. I purchased the optional griddle as well. Pretty much covers all my cooking needs.

Yes, absolutely! I really hate those single-use propane containers. Very difficult to recycle due to restrictions. I think most of them end up as landfill. I finally got a refillable propane tank and an adapter. Since I use my stove for camping trips year round, I wanted something relatively small, so I got a special 5 lb size (equal to about 4.5 disposable cylinders). It was kind of pricey (around $50), but I needed the portability. The 20 lb size tanks, however, are ubiquitous. They are most often used on home gas grills. You can pick up a used one on craigslist for around 10-15 bucks. Either way, refilling a tank is much cheaper in the long run than buying the disposable ones, and you don't keep piling on the landfill.

You can get an adapter to refill those one use tanks.

Actually, I looked into that, and found that while it's possible, there can be problems. I've heard people say they can only partially refill them, they have problems with leaks, etc. Also, it is technically illegal to "transport" a refilled, single-use propane bottle (not that you could ever possibly get caught). And since your local hardware or propane store won't refill them, you have to have a larger propane tank from which to fill it yourself, so either way, you have to acquire a larger tank. Someone who is much smarter than me broke down the science of it all here.
