Coming to the desert

Post by willholcomb » Tue Aug 18, 2009 12:13 am

Well, it's a little over a week for me until I drive out of Baltimore headed West to my first Burn.

I'm really getting into the idea of just being as creative as I want without worrying about what the people around me are thinking.

It's exciting, but with just a twinge of fear that it can't possibly live up to my idyllic expectations.

I suppose I'll find out in two weeks. ☺

Just make sure there are no cops around - you'll get a ticket for littering :)

For my first BM i was getting ready for almost a year, read almost all guides, looked through all pix and movies, heard a ton of stories - which made me feel pretty confident in my expectations... BUT the moment i stepped on the Playa's floor by the greeter's station - all my fantasies were crushed down by the power of BM
not sure what was it: the alcoholic breath of the half naked girl-greeter who seem to be the most beautiful person in the world.... the bell that rings for every virgin... the guy-greeter who slept (i hope  ) by the greeter's tent right on the playa floor... the cheer that was coming from the greeters who made me loose my Burning virginity.... or perhaps, the humongous city that was covering the horizon with its lights, lasers, fire splashes, humming noise, club's and bar's music bits that were getting to the greeting gate... or is it the darkness of the desert that was separating me from all of this........... did not know then and still don't know every time i go there...

JUST GO AND SWIM WITH THE FLOW! it is one way stream - GOOOD WAY

2 more weeks !!!!!!!!!!
Life is damn beautiful to live it short
