Check out TBZ Village (Transformation Beyond Zion), sometimes referred to as BassCamp for an amazing line up on Thursday and Friday nights on a monsterous sound-system. Located @ 2:00 Between B & C.

I don't really need to "be there" yet, I'd be satisfied with "on my way" right now. Which I suppose in some sense I already am.

I may as well not even show up for work this week because I ain't gonna be worth a shit to my boss anyway.

when is rabbit in the moon performing..
cos Armin Van Buuren ...bassnecter...and a couple other awesome dj's are performign that night as well...
armin is at midnight - 2am at opulent temple..
Bassnectar performs at 1am at Root Society..
2am Infected mushroom is performing at Opulent Temple.

i'm gonna be at all thsoe performances..
but i wanna see Rabbit in the moon as well..

Don't know the time off hand. Probably between 12 and 2. Rabbit in the Moon will be a DJ set, not the full blown live performance. Either way Opulent and TBZ Village are only a block apart so party hopping shouldn't be too difficult.

Noe to self: Dont spend so much time at the large sound camps next round.

I had my best experiences out at the art, met the nicest people out by the art and in the city. I love to find a groove, but dubstep aint my thing, and attempting to like it over and over is not the way to spend my time in BRC. I shoulda saved my energy for the stuff I did like like Bassnectar and Rabs morning set at Simpler times in the AM after the man burn.
OTher than that, these large sound camps are not for me to spend lots of time at.

Genesh, basscamps art car, played some WONDERFUL beats during the man burn, I was in heaven to be close to it!

But then again, I am VERY music sensitive, which is a crazy thing to be at BMan and I am learning every year how to cope with it. Sleeping by Hookahdome was a blessing and a curse.

im gonna have to agree with simon here, though i only have 07 as a basis for comparasin... this year was un fucking believable.
and if you dont like big sound camps, go hang out on h and 730 or something... im sure theres alot of cool snowcone camps you can party with out there in the boonies...

Its not like I dont like the large sound camps, I think you guys kick ass, how could I not? I just am picky with music and I find there is a lot of redundancy with whats popular these days. Just my own opinion, Im allowed to have it, and yes I will spend lots more time at a city pub style venue next round. Living at 2:30 made it easy for me to get to OT or Root so the easy access made me wander there a lot. I plan on living in the burbs when I return and enjoying the large sound camps from afar, which is a whole nother way to love em. The distant cacophony is brilliant.
But people eat what they are fed, and it seems that when something not so testosterone finally booms out, it is very appreciated by many. It just seems Harder Faster Louder sometimes.

But or course, big ups to the people that put tons of energy and effort into them. THey are monstrous and a ton of work and they help shape the city.

Nexus was where it was at. The best sound system, and an intimate venue. I had the best time dancing there. Lee Coombs Thursday, and the three man tag team Sunday night... whoever you were, you were fun! Chainsaws ftw! I was your dj slut.

Root Society spent too much on the big dome, not enough on the sound. I couldn't stay in there for long. The smaller ones were better, but they all trapped the dust.

OT was good, I was there for Elite Force v Meat Katie Saturday, good job boys! Also for Ali B Wednesday (?) but he wasn't doing it for me, although he has in the past.

I tried to hang out at the Robot Heart one night, but the smell of diesel fumes was too much.

For chiller times, Galactic Ashram was perfect, so was Zanzibar.

I spent my wednesday night rotating between opulent temple, hookahdome, potties, wter refill, centercamp, then repeat about 3 more times during the night.

The white party at Opulent temple was fantastic, and really blew my mind. They confirmed the myth that "burning man is the worlds biggest party", with awesome sets by all DJs, especially DJ Icon.

Op Temp, what little i did see and hear, was mighty tasty.

Both op and root were great this year. I also loved pink mammoth during the day. House during the day, and crazy beats at night! Hookah also rocked wed. night. My thanks to all who made it happen!
