When I went a eek early a couple years back I had to drive out to get ice... certain people they bring it in for- It seems like they did sell it the day before opening.
If I were to wish ANYTHING I'd wish I were ME!!

There is a 3 hour window at Central Artica Sunday from 12-3. The regular sales at all icy spots starts Monday at 9am. I would buy up before hitting the playa. Blocks last longer =)

There's a place that sells ice in Sparks, by Reno, for really cheap. here's their website www.frescawaterhouse.com. I just called them and they are selling 8 lb. bags for $1 each.

Along the lines of what greengrass mentioned, there's also Crystal Ice on 4th St in Reno, just west of Keystone Ave. They supply Artica with ice throughout the event. They have dry ice, blocks and bags.
1345 W. 4th St. is the address.
