Wow, very thoughtful responses. It sounds like you have been watching this for quite a while.
There is a book you can buy on Amazon that is probably the best one I've seen, called Burning Book by Jessica Bruder.
This may hold you over until you can get there yourself. Thanks again for the long and detailed reply. It sounds like this may be your community.

Thank you very much, it's cool to hear that. I'm DEFINITELY going to try and get that book, it looks fantastic! Out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, what intrigued you to ask me those questions? I don't mind, I'm just a very curious little brat :P.

Alright, real 14 year olds are clueless about hte New York Dolls and your posts are waaaaaaaaaaaay too lucid and thoughtful.

Purpose-Bred Australian Battle Clone. I hope they turn off the automatic "Waltzing Matilda" module. Or is that the secret weapon?

We used that picture for our concert posters when we brought in the Dolls with Iggy for a show.

Uhmm, no special reason, just wondering if you really had a 14 year old mind. You have the mind of a 28 year old. :D

Hahahahahahha! I swear I'm 14. I don't like new music, it sucks, if you were a 14 year old alive in the Emo era, Bush era and the Lady GaGa era, you'd have a diverse music taste from the '60s as well. All the music I like is genuine and real, (The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Frank Zappa etc.) and I'm a thoughtful person I suppose. I read a lot, so I know how to read and write, you know...the basic things people can't do these days :P

I am 14, I swear, but I am 5''9 so people usually think I'm like 17. My music is diverse, I read a lot and I'm not a fan of modern music, hence my age confusion here.

If you are 14 then get up off your ass and go outside, you should not be wasting your day posting at this place, go out and PLAY, get some exercise or you will end up fat and boring.

I'm in Australia, it's still very early morning in the middle of Winter, dark, frozen, wet and Antarctic. Trust me I miss the good weather, and I hate being inside.

Here's the deal Adam. If you were trying to pass yourself off as a much younger person than you were, then you not have giving such a thoughtful and insightful answer. You would have played with us and not given that much thought.
With that said, I believe that you are actually 14, but an extremely mature and insightful 14. Do you have trouble relating to others your age who are still playing with plastic solders and playing cops and robbers?
You WILL find Burning Man to be just what you are looking for. You will fit right and and feel like you have met thousands of people that you can relate to.
You should be excited, because this is the most amazing place on earth.
Start getting your stuff together for your big trip next year.
See you on the playa and welcome home little dude!

Thank you very much, for all your help and your trust that I am who I am! I absolutely do have trouble relating to people my age, many of my friends are significantly older or at least a bit older. Burning Man has never seemed more right for me, you having said that. I'm more excited for this than anything, truthfully, and I appreciate all your help and support. Delving into Cyber-Man (Eplaya) has strengthened my belief that Burning Man is a kind, open and free society fueled by intelligence and the embrace of the natural freak within! That being said, my preparation begins today, and my excitement is hardly contained!
Thank you for your help and time Shambala, and you will be seeing me on the Playa! Adam
P.S. - That picture is fantastic! Hahahahahaha!

Maybe.

But when I was 15, all my friends were older.
And I wasn't entirely musically backward.

Please just leave me the hell alone, I came here for help from actual Burners and I haven't asked to know anyone in a "Personal way", I've PM'ed one other person and received a pm from another, BOTH totally unrelated to molestation, sexual activity or anything of the sort. The only thing "pseudo-sexual" about the New York Dolls is that they wore women's clothes and for someone on a Burning Man forum, that shouldn't seem too strange. MANY of my friends are significantly older than I am and guess what, no sexual relationship there either, we just like the same music, so get over yourself and leave me alone, and posting stupid shit in threads I started because I genuinely need help, because you know people are going to read that and think, well this guy's not lying look how many post's he's made. Get over the fact that I'm NOT a cop.

Yeah, I've read a few other things he's posted so I've cooled off a bit. And don't get me wrong, you all have every right to be cautious of me as I am of everyone else. Not that I don't trust this forum (In fact it's much better than any other forum I've come across.), but it's still the internet...none of us really know the truth, it's all based on trust.
Also, what does AIIZ mean? Other users post it after they've said something and I'm just wondering what it means, if you know?
Thanks AntiM.

Oh now I'm paranoid!

We have seen this shit here on BM before and some people had problems right after PMing them. Nobody ever recalls meeting these so called minors showing up at BM and right after the event they disappear from the threads. Look if you're looking for Pedos fine you're a good person to clean out the trash from the world, but we don't have a problem with them mainly because this event is mostly and almost a 100% adult event. Kids don't really want to come here and watch their parents do stupid things.

I also have a problem with some vice detectives attracting these people to the event or to this forum. We don't need them here.

And why haven't you complied with a simple request showing you and a local paper in one photo or something with a datestamp showing you at a location in Austie?

If you a cop or someone that is hunting deviants, why don't you BM a big favor and go after the people that are a problem at BM. Like drug date predators. I hear that homemade Here's your byline:

"VeryLonelyPlanetGirl says, Hi everyone! I'm new to BM. I just got out of a physically violent relationship. I don't have any relatives, I was an orhan. Since my ex-boyfriend locked me up without having any friends- I still don't. I like drugs and really like to party. I would like some answers to my BM trip and make a friend or two"

that should bait some shitheads!

AS I said everyone like that had come on to our forum has never or was ever seen at the event or the small gatherings for eplayans.

The majority of BMers don't like kids at BM. We are sick of you losing your kid during the burn and to look for you brat. One year, your 16 year old got sick and tired of looking at a bunch of old farts and went home safely. Meanwhile, the whole event was looking for her. Like I'm sick of BM allowing kids in general. They prevent the event from becoming a better place for adults.

And what's up with your signoff, Jim Morrison- let's get real cop!

Everybody knows the real hotspot for pedophiles is the public library.

Parents continue to abandon kids there routinely, in spite of rules to the contrary.

Look, kid or cop, the obvious answer is anyone stupid enough to take the bait deserves to be busted.

I am NOT tracking down IP addys for anyone's personal edification. I will say this is not an apparent and transparent eplayan sock.

Don't want to get into this? Don't read or post here. Walk away. Just say no.

You could post a picture of yourself holding up a koala or funnelweb, or being dragged into the bush by dingoes.

That would be hard to fake here.

The important thing is not only for you to read the First Timers Guide, and the Survival Guide, but for your legal guardian to also read them.
It would really suck if after a few days of being on the playa, your guardian decided it was not for them and wanted to leave.
