Beware of cops working the gate

Post by Igneouss » Sun Aug 23, 2009 11:30 am

They have established a tradition of busting people for open liquor while driving. Resist that urge to crack the first beer until you are parked! Remember that all the default worl rules remain in effect for driving and alcohol.

Cheers

By 'working' I assume you mean observing at/from and through the Gate. BLM, and other law enforcement persons do not 'work' the gate (undercover or otherwise.)

You make a good point. They WILL pull you over. The WILL write you up. My experience has been that they tend to instsntly go after the fools who decide to crawl on the hoods of rolling vehicle, hang out of windows (or sun roofs)
and ESPECIALLY those who decided its cool to ride on the roofs of moving vehicles.

You've been duly warned.

Yes, the pigs will be using infrared to scope vehicles looking for anyone drinking alcohol while waiting in line at the gate !! Don't be fucking stupid and get a DUI at the gate before you even enter BM !!

Same goes with smoking bowls kiddies. Keep it on the DL if you smoke while waiting in line to enter BM.
Fuck you, fuck you...you're cool, fuck you !!

I support everyone's right to party in whichever way they choose once their car is parked. But drinking while in line to check in??? That process can take an hour or more, plenty of time to get plastered, and then drive in the dark to your camp through a dusty city crowded with bikes and peds. I'll side with the cops on this one. First park your car, then party as much as you like.

People shouldn't drink behind the wheel or before getting behind the wheel period. I commend any police officer who pulled over anyone drinking and driving. You would be surprised how many beers have been cracked by the time they get to the gate. There are many hazards in the line to the gate as there are in the road such as people wandering around between cars. While I was working one man jumped out of his car without putting on his parking break and pinned a man between two cars and a bicycle rack.

Don't drink until you are parked at your camp. Cops were pulling a lot of people over this year. I alerted quite a few people who begged me to remove their open containers from their car before they drove in. Next year, I'll just keep the reminder to myself.

I'm waiting for "Are you carrying any drugs in your vehicle? No? Well you'd better take some of mine then."
