We made it to NO for MG this year and have many moving boxes of "good" beads. Would these be good to gift.

Every time you see bare boobies, you can give the person beads. That should go for both men and women.

But seriously folks, check to see if they fall apart when the string breaks. If the little beads don't end up all over the place, then I would bring 'em along. If you want to get fancy, you can make a little "man" out of pipe cleaners and put that on the string of beads.

Everyone gets beads has been my rule. Actually, I am cautious because I also didn't to make any mess by having loose beads all over the place so these cheap ones would not make the trip. I was planning on only bringing the ones that are stung together. If they break you still have a strand of beads and can even loop the last two beads together to make it a necklace again.

I have spent hours at the end for the last 12 years picking up beads and like mOOp... Leave the beads home... This is NOT the same event...

And remember, Part of your pass to get in is to spend 2 hours picking up mOOp.... Just don't forget.... 8) 8) 8)

I'd personally save the beads for next mardigras. Maybe bring some that light up. Those would be great for people who aren't lit up at night.

Beads are right up there with glow sticks. Moop-o-rama.

Who really likes Mardi Gras beads? I don't know anybody who collects them, or looks forward to ever getting them. They go straight to trash.

If you personalized them with some sort of charm, that would be preferable.

Otherwise, leave 'em at home.

Okay, those mardi-gras beads are fused to the string. You cannot break them and send them all over the playa. And they are rather ephemeral, as the coating wears out after a while. There will be plenty of people who will want them as shiny, fun things.

And trust me on this, I've strung "real" beads. Not the same animal

Do you have those fish ones?

Leave your fucking beads at home - unless you plan on gathering a crowd in Center Camp and tutor neophytes in the ways of the ol' Chinese Knot Trick.

Otherwise, spare us.

Please.

Exactly. I wasn't thinking moop as far as the beads and breakage, but in the sense that nobody really cares about them and will toss them on the ground, in the trash, etc.

Now these,

don't get misplaced as easily.

...hopefully.

The way I look at it is, don't make your gift a burden. What significance do your beads have. Can you picture the story told about your gift, "wow man, we met this guy who had a bunch of beads left over from mardi gras so he brought them to burning man and look I got me some, arn't they shiny?"

From that story, and from the op's opening post, your left over gifts so that women will show you their tits, might backfire on you at BRC, we really treasure our tits!

Frat boys, frat boys, frat boys...Actually the whole thought process that makes the beads work at mardi gras is something I hope never catches on at burning man
