radio?

Post by cornbread » Thu May 06, 2004 8:34 am

I've heard the FCC was out in 03 stomping on burners who were daring to broadcast radio signals...any know where I can get info on this nasty regulatory issue (past, present, future...)?

Cheers!

Maybe I was out of the loop in 2003 but as far as I know the FCC thing was just another romor that gets perpeptuated every year. As I understand, the difference this year was that the rumor was being driven in part by someone on the Senior Staff.

Piss clear did an article back a few years ago about this. I this it was real news at that point. But who can tell. Check their archives, I believe it was an opening issue maybe around 99 or 2000.

Radio

It seemed like there were a lot less stations last year, at least we couldn't pick up many where we were camped around 4:00. Radio Free Burning Man was broadcasting but their signal barely came in. I wondered if they has reduced their transmitter power or something. They were over in the 3:00 plaza, not far from us. Kind of a bummer, the radio at bman was always a highlight for me. You'd hear some really unique stuff.
