How do you get it all on the plane!

I'm packing fairly light, I'm just trying to figure out how to get two sleeping bags and a tent onto the plane in one container. The sleeping bags are pretty big, even when rolled up. I don't really fly a lot, and when I do, I usually just take a carry on, so I'm not well-versed in checking bags, let alone camping equipment. Any tips or advice is appreciated!

Those great big uprighty military sized duffel bags with the shoulder strap should fit your two sleeping bags and a tent, assuming you already have a military duffel?

Last year I checked my bag containing tent, sleeping bag, and other essentials. It arrived 3 months later.

This year I'm shipping those to a hotel in Reno where I'll stay one night for $25 before the burn and one night afterwards also for $25. It's a little pricier than checking it and hoping it gets there. But cheaper if the stuff doesn't arrive and you would have had to buy substitutes in Reno...

Going solo this isn't an option, but with a group, you can rent a truck and get someone to drive it out there.
Sometimes if you're lucky, you find out you are actually not far from a group that has a truck, and if they have some space, you can ask about how to reserve some space for yourself.

The trick is to get a down fill sleeping bags that can really compress down. Mine fits into a 12x7 inch stuff sack, and it's very lightweight, so packing it is not much of an issue at all.
