RV Insurance

Post by Abductor » Mon Aug 24, 2009 8:01 pm

This year I'm trying things a little differently and joining some friends in their rented RV.

I thought getting insurance would be a snap, but not so. I have a spotless record but I don't own a car and therefore don't have any auto insurance. I can't find any place that will cover me for the duration of the trip in the RV.

Any ideas?

Are you renting from a private party?
If not, I think rental company can provide you with one

Was in the same boat until just today. My agent told me to start an annual policy from Progressive and select the "pay monthly" option. Select for your start date the day you pick up your RV. You'll pay the first month to start the policy, then cancel when you get home, long before the next month is due. It's as if you bought an RV, and sold it a month later. No biggie.

Hope this helps. See you in the dust~
