How do you deal with the approx 6000 lbs of diesel generator it would take to generate 80,000 W (well, diesel or natural gas, but I'm going to assume it's not practical to show up there with a CNG tank big enough to last the week)?White Rabbit wrote:Thats right all 21 minutes of one of the most amazing songs ever made-@ concert level sound quality! starts at 1:30AM friday morn after the hour of Tool.

Technically, the generator wieghs 10,000lbs. We opted not to use those puny lightwieght MQ power generators and instead went with a full size Ingersoll Rand extreme duty unit with the John Deere Turbo engine.Jiva wrote:How do you deal with the approx 6000 lbs of diesel generator it would take to generate 80,000 W (well, diesel or natural gas, but I'm going to assume it's not practical to show up there with a CNG tank big enough to last the week)?White Rabbit wrote:Thats right all 21 minutes of one of the most amazing songs ever made-@ concert level sound quality! starts at 1:30AM friday morn after the hour of Tool.
BTW...I also do not like Rush. That is perhaps the strangest choice of music to play loudly. Slayer would be a better choice in my opinion.

Consider whether it's the volume that bothers people or if it's your musical choice. Burningman is a tolerant place, but intruding on other people's trips is not cool.White Rabbit wrote:its starting to sound like there is not enough support for the 2112 performance... i'll listen to a few more comments then make an executive descision

Actually, no. If 1300w Can produce 120dB, then 80kW is 18-20dB louder -Approx 4X louder. BUt If you're a Mile away, then most likely this won't be audibleUgly Dougly wrote:At 80 kW, it doesn't matter where. Everyone in the county will be subjected to it.

What can I say,,,,the tracks listed are just so...normal for such an awesome power rig.
Why not Corona Radiata off of The Slip?
It's a 7minute masterpiece by Trent Reznor that will test the limits of any sub-woofer, is totally trippy and NOT something you'll likely to hear in the dance halls.
BTW, the next cut after Corona is The Four of Us Are Dying at 4minutes, and has equal bass showing off but you can dance to it, if you prefer rhythms and heavy beats to dance to that is...

... what he said.
I'll find yer ass for the Tool session though, for the chance to hear "Lateralus" or "The Patient" or ANY Tool on playa at high volume... With that need met, all I have to do now is find Alex Grey...
