For those of us who can't burn in 2009
For those of us who can't burn in 2009
So... who else out there can't go this year? What are you doing to take your mind off of it?
I just feel a little lost and sad, but happy that it's almost over so I can really start focusing on 2010.
How about you?

Already planning for 2010
I hear you. Due to timing issues and prior commitments couldn't make it to the playa this year. I'm a virgin so I don't even know truly what I'm missing but I've done considerable research and can't wait to get there. Less than 365 days until the playa opens again for 2010. In the mean time I have many projects to keep me active in preparation for the event. How are you coping?

I had to stop watching the cam after an hour. I mean, for christsakes I DO have a life outside of Burning Man. It's not my freaking life. I've learned a lot from BM (MOOP patrol, self-reliance, radical self-expression, etc...) -and I am grateful. It's made me a better person for sure...although I was already a pretty neat person before that. heh heh.. But I have to be happy in the Default World (tm) so I am doing things that make me happy and bringing the BM principles to my world out here.

This past week I told myself I would pick up MOOP in the Default World (tm) since I can't be there in BRC. I have been picking up MOOP when I go on walks all around our apartment complex. I think I shall continue to do this from now on. I won't be doing it on my walks to the store here on Sunrise Blvd, though. It would take me 5 huge hefty bags and I wouldn't get to the store until after 2-3 hours.
Damn litter bugs in their cars...

I'm doing.. Still to down in the back to clean up the shop..Or put the shade/shelter and MV away for the winter..
Have a couple small projects on the "burner" for 10..
Want to build a wind speed average meter for the playa..plenty of time "1yr." to art it up.
Maybe a "steam punk" clock works to keep the sun oven alined..
promise self to rebuild body up to support the back..
Stop eating wichamacarcass sandwiches..

We’ve been focusing on the house, especially this week. Lots of things to lend a little TLC to on that side of things. Had a small burn-barrel fire a night ago and thinking on 2010. Pondering on how to agri-punk a waterjacket cooled single cylinder diesel engine. I want to be able to go further more reliably.
Karine said it best. It’s not that we’re taking the year off, but more like we’re stretching the year out in order to get everything done.
Ujon, keep that promise to self. Rustinails will help you, no doubt.

LeChat, I'm in same position as you.
Man this is killing me! I'm sitting here watching the live webcam, thinking to myself "I can't believe I'm one of the people sitting home staring at a webcam of the playa".
I AM going to be there next year, with a new motor in my truck, cruising over to your camp in my Land Yacht (with various updates) and checking out what you've done to The Contraption.

Well.....thanks to this asinine, absolutely bullshit fucking policy:
Sixth Level:
tickets are $360, available at the Box Office of the event.
* Payment by cash & credit card only.
* Available through midnight Thursday, September 5.
I can't get there in time to pick them up, nor can I do online ordering anymore either.
HELL HATH NO FURY THAT COMPARES TO MY ANGER RIGHT NOW.

To answer your questions, the Pete is parked a lot, and the real boat is dry docked... but I'll definitely put a tie down on the Land Yacht for your walker.unjonharley wrote:

You, me, and LeChat all need to drink margaritas and cruise the Yacht next year for SURE. I have to put a new motor in my truck in the mean time.
And shut up LeChat, I'm not putting a steam engine in it!!

You HAVE to go. I'll find you next year... I still have that bottle of champagne you gave me a few years ago. I'm not drinking it anywhere except Black Rock City. That cruise would be the right time to finally pop it open.MozyBonz wrote:

I've been burning in my back yard at night for several days and now thanks that I have a new power supply for my laptop and to MozyB for the live stream and will be burning with the playa.
Though it is only a chimenaria, but the mango rum drinks taste the same as the playa.
Have a good home burn everyone.
that live stream sure makes the playa look like a desert. I guess the camp is on the NE end of the city and that's center camp opposite or at the top of the image?
AIIZ
Now to get someone to make some dust storm
