Unfortunately it turns out I can not go next year, and I already had a good idea for a art piece...
anyhow if any of y'all want to do it for me, that will make my life.
The Idea is to have a regular light post, with speakers in the base. By day the speakers will blast sounds that would be found in any city. Yet at night the light turns on, and will smoothly change colors, meanwhile techno/electronic/dance music will be playing. It represents how Burning Man is a city, yet has a unique experience that can be found nowhere else.

Same here...but I also thought if the Anime of the same title.
anywho, this pic with a BM effigy photoshopped in it would be cool..I would try..but I need to decompress

Retro-futurism...I hope the rocket returns. Machinemenshe (sp) families. Smallville and superheros. Artdeco and rocketmen. Monorail ride, electric vehicles. Futurerama. Startrek, statrwars, new generation, conventionistas. Lectures on urban planning, new technology, infrastruture renewal, etc...Post-apocalyptical / roadwarrior villages. Issac Asimov and other sci-fi readings, movies, theater. Music. Many ideas are boiling in my head.
We have aluminum can recycling. Can paper and plastic bottle recycling be done next year? Trash containers would eliminate roadside mess at Exodus. I read in the Reno paper where that city is bearing the cost of garbage handling. Perhaps we can throw some bones toward a Washoe County waste removal company along with the porto-potty folks? We contract out leos, why not trashmen?

actually, it's a typo....the theme is METROPLEX.
yes, this year all theme camps and villages will be located under one roof, in a giant METROPLEX where everyone will be near the food court, and all camps will be newly fitted with cup holders and surround sound for enhanced spectapatory pleasure.
a miniature esplanade and electric golf-art-carts will replace the old, dusty, expanse of playa with a carpeted, comfy, clean, easy to manage Black Rock Mall complete with taxis that go beep beep beep as you transport your luggage from the shuttle to your tent condos.
METROPLEX.....something for everyone, in a diluted, lowest common denominator kind of way.
METROPLEX.....think downtown INDOOR Reno, but with no meth-heads asking for money.
METROPLEX.....now in I-Max 3D.

Prediction: Theme camps will become miniature cities, and the costume de rigeur will be either Robot Maria or Doktor Rotwang. (Stifles a yawn.)
"We shall build a tower that will reach to the stars!" Having conceived Babel, yet unable to build it themselves, they had thousands to build it for them. But those who toiled knew nothing of the dreams of those who planned. And the minds that planned the Tower of Babel cared nothing for the workers who built it. The hymns of praise of the few became the curses of the many - BABEL! BABEL! BABEL! - Between the mind that plans and the hands that build there must be a Mediator, and this must be the heart.
Irving Norman
The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the 2010 theme was Irving Norman's Dark Metropolis collection. I live in Sac-of-Tomatoes (That's Sacramento) and we are blessed with an original piece of his at the Crocker Art Museum.
It is like HR Gieger meets Bosch in the Jazz Age. His painting have inspired many art project ideas for next year. Enjoy...
