Stuff I found while mooping
As a first time burner, my main contribution in 2009 was picking up moop everywhere I could, especially on my long walks in the deep playa. I'm hooked!... not hooked on picking up cigarette butts (which was about 1/4 of the total moop content)...but hooked on the community feeling of BM. I'll definitely be back year after year now. In the mean time, where do I post the lost items I found?
Here's where you can post found items.
That was very sweet of you to moop around as your gift. Welcome to eplaya.

Woot! Welcome to the club. One of my favorite daytime activities is moop pickup around my neighborhood. You get to meet a bunch of great folks and spread the word about cleaning up the playa. I have never found anything cool but, yes, cigarette butts seem to be to biggest contribution to polluting the playa.

Maybe their shound be a moop hour. Every day at say noon? It doesn't have to be a whole hour, just 5-10 minutes. Kinda like the hoots and hollers at sunrise and sunset. Somebody kick me before I turn into a hippie! I love mooping! Not in my house, but on the playa its fun. Payed for my fuel home three years ago. Mooping at the spring cleanups, is equally fun!
anything worth doing is worth overdoing..
cig butts
I smoke and just don't understand how smokers can be such pigs! Even in the default world, they will just throw them away even when there is a trash can available.
I for one bring an empty altoids type can and store many butts, than dump it in my camp trash bag.

My eyes
After a very very dusty night I ended up with contacts full of Playa. When I reached my tent I ripped them out of my eyes and tossed them to the wind. I know "bad virgin" moop is moop no matter how small. My final moop sweep before my exodus I found them both side by side all hard and dried.
A do-do-do-do moment. But then again on the Playa the unsual is the norm isn't it.

One night I dropped a lollipop I was enjoying and I looked all over for it cuz i didn't want to moop it, but I couldn't find it in the dark (this was a no moon year). Later I was sitting in a chair and felt something odd on my fuzzy coat--yay--found my lollipop!

we had "moop hell" at a point, when leaving.....
the fellow across the street, had, set out a piece of astro turf he had cut himself......when he pulled it up, there were thousands of little green "things" everywhere......
I got a fine lawn rake, and we all got collanders, window screens, and sifters, and, raked and sifted for what seemed like hours...........
and, explained to him that may not be what to bring next year.........hahahaha, he did feel bad.........
the "moop patrol" came by, and, checked the area and declared it "clean"........yay..........
to the astro turn fellow:
" dont never do that again".........

last year I picked up a fake fur collar & two days later I picked up a REAL fur tail ( of some sort,, perahps fox? ) anyhow, my friend Dave says " what? are you a trapper now ? "
I took the real fur home to my cat and she growled at it... mounted and bit it.. and THEN pissed on it!!
so, ok people.. NO more real fur on the playa!

Thanks for reminding me to check for treasures.
When I deliver the Black Rock Beacon, I carry a MOOP bag and gather whatever I see. Most times it's real garbage, like cigarette butts but sometimes I find real treasures.
I have yet to unpack this year's MOOP bag. It's just hanging on a hook in my camper still. Time to go see what's in it!!!
Sometimes I find real cool stuff - like a plastic PEACE ring or something. I gift it to the next person I see. This is so much fun.
