Decompression SF (Pre-Parties)

Post by PlayaFrame » Sat Sep 19, 2009 4:25 pm

Evening all,

My friends and I are heading out to SF for Decompression this year. I have been before their first times. I went back in 2007 and had a blast, but we also went to a pre party somewhere in the mission district. I remember it was somewhere near that Salsa place Roccapulco. The main thing I remember, there was this upstairs area where they were taking pictures of everyone in front of a screen then projecting them up on the wall. If anyone know where Im talking about please help me out, I'd love to go again this year. Or if there are any other pre-parties.

Thanks. much love,
Jefe

The precomp this year was held at the Mission Rock Cafe, but back then it was on 9th and Folsom, at what's now the Climate Theatre. There were also shows at the Somarts Center.

No..it wasnt mission rock.
It was at a house, but a very large house that seemed to be just for this party. I don't think it was an official party or anything...but I remember someone saying they have it every year.

The official Precompression earlier this summer was at Mission Rock, but I think Playa is asking about the predecompression party(ies).

I know that the Climate was upstairs - and it looks like a private residence. Were precomps sill being held there? I don't know.

Yea, I guess I would be talking about the pre-decompression.

Im 75% sure it was on 27th St near Ceasar Chavez.

It was a house on the corner of a street. The DJ was out in the garage area, I remember it was all hard wood floor. walk down to the end of the hall turn right go in the garage and that where everyone was. There must have been over 100 people there.

I know it's a long shot to find this place again, but it's worth a shot.

If anyone recognizes any of these pictures? this was from the party...

hot off the wires....

Heya New York Burners,

Decom is a hot ticket this year! We have sold out of $20 tickets and are
now at the $25 level. There's 500 of these puppies, after which the
remainder of tickets will go for $30.

We just released the official Decom announcement to regional Burning Man
lists across the world, so be sure to get your tickets before some
Canadian snatches them up.
