Anyone get gastro bacterial infection at BM 2009?
Anyone get gastro bacterial infection at BM 2009?
Our camp was clean, the food was well prepared and well cooked. I used the porta potties followed by the hand sanitizer. Currently I am still "sick" with some sort of food or waterborne bug. No fever, no nausea- just the runs since Sep 7. Anyone in the same boat? Waiting for lab results this week. Lucy

One should never, ever, interrupt one's desire to defecate. I have inquired at the Bronx and London Zoos as to the daily bowel evacuations of primates. It is not once, twice, or three times, sir, but four. At the end of an average day, their cages are filled with a veritable mountain of natural health.
My own stools, Sir, are gigantic and have no more odor than a hot biscuit.

I had a day of grumbly guts, but I went to imodium and oatmeal and was alright. The sanitizer itself bothers my skin a great deal; but our camp is close so I usually did a water rinse for my hands.LucyR wrote:Our camp was clean, the food was well prepared and well cooked. MyLarry got a Bad Case of food poisoning one year; not from food or water, but from camp plates cleaned with clorox wipes and not rinsed. I distrust anti-bacterial products as your guts should have some bacteria!

No, no GI problems for me. I lost fifteen pounds by working my ass off. I'm retired and don't work off playa. I look forward to attending and busting my hump all week.
I did develop a fever blister on my right upper lip on Friday, but I believe that was due to not using lip balm. When I overwork/ get stressed, I get cold sores/ fever blisters. It's a signal to me to slow down.
