Arrested at Burning Man 2009 - Need legal help.

Hey folks,

Bad way to make an introduction, but I need some help.

I was arrested by Bureau of Land Management last Wed night/thurs morning on the Playa.

Terrible experience and I don't recommend it, but I'm trying to move on. Currently I'm trying to find a lawyer with experience with my kind of case in Nevada (I was arrested on a drug offense.)

I've been to lawyersforburners.com but a lot of the info is a couple years old and no matter how hard I look I can't seem to find any kind of actual contact info. Very frustrating.

Quite a way to spend my first burn =-)

If you have resources or can point me towards the proper way to get in touch with Lawyers for Burners I'd be very appreciative.

But as he said before, Unjon, it doesn't really give him any contact info....

OP already went to that site. I too couldn't find a place on there on how to contact them, except for an email address if you are a lawyer and want to volunteer. It wasn't in JRS either.

This is most certainly helpful to the OP as it not only answers their question, but it does so in a polite and understanding fashion. I love it when people are helpful, compassionate, and understanding of others that may have opted for different paths on their way through life.

thats not snark, thats being an insulting asshole. whats most disturbing isnt the blatent disregard, its being the sole example in an otherwise civil topic. so do we really need to make excuses for it?

I agree.

But when a person has already been arrested for the stupidity of their actions and are now asking for help, is that really the time to give them a lecture? I think the fact that they were arrested is lecture, punishment and education enough. (Well I'd like to think so anyway.)

That assumes that all losers are drug users. I know plenty of losers that dont use drugs, and plenty of drug users that are billionaires.

Everyone makes mistakes. I see drivers making near fatal mistakes every day. Nevada is NOT the state to bring drugs. I don't see how calling someone, who's clearly remorseful, a loser is either funny or helpful. Best of luck!
