Art

Hi Burningman Eplaya people. I've been lurking on this site for awhile and finally was pulled out by this thread. Here's some of my Burningman art. This is a 4' X 8" airbrush painting which is part of a project thats been in the works for a few years. There are 6 more of these that are incorperated into a larger instalation. Check it out.

If my avatar is still the tiny house and the giant disco ball ... the house is mine. "Gallery" is 1/144th scale, an empty house with broken window panes, covered in playa dust, no people, no art, just pale patches on the walls and floors where art was once installed. All gone to Burning Man perhaps. Mounted on a small pedestal, this is non-monumental, non-interactive art. Anti Art if you like. I think he may be a distant cousin.
The giant disco ball is neat:

Amazing feat, I hope he gets it out to the playa sometime.

Ah, the magic of perspectives. The ball is hanging far behind the house, you have the optical illusion part correct, just not the execution. I had to scrunch down to get both pieces in the frame. The house has six rooms and an attic, but at 1/144th scale, it can sit in the palm of your hand. It is small enough to be a dollhouse in a dollhouse. I even have a smaller house which fits inside of it! Kills my eyes doing the extremely small pieces like that.is the ball an optical illusion in front of the house or is the house smaller than average? I know the ball is big but some how the proportions don’t seem to be to scale.
My favorite picture, which I have around somewhere, shows the ball hanging from a crane off to the side of the house, and it looks just like a disco wrecking ball. Must be symbolic, but I'm too tired to for metaphor.

see if i can get this to work...

MAN! the ideas for art!!! Now, I have got to do something, and I'm not an even an artist...
How about Buddhist prayer wheels made out of animal parts from a slaughterhouse?
Um.... on second thought...
A miniature bust of George Bush?
Naw, we already have one running the nation...
I know! A large flat place on the ground, covered in dust!
Unless, of course, it's been done already.

More art! Art for the art thread! This is the inside of the Seven Atmospheres Octagon. It has made one trip out to the Man, two attempts. Broke down once on the way to The Seven Stages of Man, broke down the second time for Beyond Belief. Floating World was a success. Got my fingers crossed for Heavens Vault………….Tricky thread, this Art tread, being that ART is such a broad word and all. I wonder how it could be more specific. Maybe that reveals too much about art? ………Wheatweaverwhatever.
