Oh dear, Crypto. Sorry if we're supporting an evil corporation through this innocent seeming photo contest.
sigh...do we always have to be on guard? Why can't it just be a little easier?
I haven't time at this second to look them up but I will.
Damn, I hate corporations that can't deal with stuff ethically and I hate always having to be on guard.

What else should they do with them? Give them to the dog pound so that they can kill them?theCryptofishist wrote:So has PetCo stopped killing animals they can't sell?
Oh and I voted for your dog...he seems to be in the lead right now.

In this case because I'm an opinionated cuss who sort of thinks that these on-line popularity contests are a sick exercise in making the rest of my life more like high school.Deb Prothero wrote: sigh...do we always have to be on guard?
Probably came on too hard, Pandazex. I'm sorry.

Ah no, don't apologize for being opinionated, Crypto. That's what I love about ya cause your posts always make me think.
I was having a bad day and just wanted to vote for the pug. Usually I do the kind of checking that you did and I was just too darn tired. I'm glad you keep me on my toes.
Also glad that pandasex's pug is in the lead!!!
And jkisha, they could give the dogs to their local dog rescue group along with a grant for helping feed them for a week or something. I have a friend who runs one of these groups and she is my heroine!
What a job they do scooping dogs out from 4 area pounds at the hour just before they are to be euthanized and then finding a foster home until they can adopt the dog to a safe family. Wow. My friend Lois raises tens of thousands of dollars every year to feed these dogs and get the full vet check before she interviews the adoptive family and makes sure the dog is obedience trained. That woman is a saint.
She deserves the help of corporations like PetCo.

Maybe they should send the dogs over to those countries where the starving children are...that might help solve two problems at the same time.
I don't much care that they are killed, as long as they are killed quickly and humanely. Might as well eat them--it puts them to good use. The taste a lot like chicken. (the puppies, not the kids.)

I have gone through phases in my life where pets are amusing novelties and if treated humanely offing them isnt that big a deal to me.
Other times they mean a little more.
I imagine you can make Soilent Green from puppies as easy as people.
Probably cooks like a chicken, 350degrees cook to 160 inside...JKisha is right, tastes like chicken. I had dog broiled on skewers.
Spay and neuter them if there are too many already to care for. prevention goes along ways.

I've eaten dog also, in Viet Nam. They are just animals, like cows or chickens, except in this country we are taken by their personalities.mdmf007 wrote:I have gone through phases in my life where pets are amusing novelties and if treated humanely offing them isnt that big a deal to me.

I don't have any problem with spaying and neutering, but if our over-population of dogs and cats could help stave off hunger in the rest of the world, I'm all for it. (Unless someone could come up with a better alternative--frankly, my "better" alternative would be mandatory sterilization, but I think puppy chow would be an easier sell. But the truth is, like it or not, we cannot as a species, go on breeding in an uncontrolled manner and expect any positive outcome.)
