Gods and Men in Societies- Past, Present & Future!

Post by Apollonaris Zeus » Wed Aug 19, 2009 12:58 pm

Since some people KNOW so much lets give them a place voice their opinion!

You got something to enlighten E playa. Say it here!

Get ready for this!

My thesis;

Religion should not be about control unless it has to do with the rudiments of a religion such as ritual: i.e. how, when and where to pray beyond that control of society is function of government.

I believe that in rudimentary and primitive societies it may important to connect social behaviors with religious beliefs both to protect the people as well as to preserve both king and kingdom. “The King rules because he is the son of Zeusâ€

" The cosmos is all there ever was, is, or will be. "- Carl Sagan

In a few billion years the sun will burn out. The Earth will be a empty, lifeless hunk of rock.

It's all a rather meaningless discussion. Now, can we just party?

The future for mankind

Looks grim

bless those yet to that come

May they inherit the earth and prosper where we have failed!

mankind might not be the ONE!

I will give the best of mankind to them, that we are still developing and our best years are yet to come. I will tell them we are ignorant, still monkeys in the chain of evolution compared to you. We still have qualities of advance species. give us our time and you will see! Give us that chance. You will see that the temples you told use to build are still here and the gods you worship are still worshiped amongst us as you have asked us to. though we are few, hidden in the refuge of the multiples.

But you, and only you, know how much time our solar system has to exist. If we are not the not, I know you must create them. Therefore we are expendable. Our sun's life is limited much more so then our scientist's state. Higher life forms may take billion of years to evolve. Our sun might be in its final state, the sun spots have all disappeared. It might in the final stages of it's life. Only you thedd gods know.

If it so, please, Gods of Olympus, we wish to make a contribution to life of the universe. our final period that we, if we could, make that final step to Olympus. Please intervene on tour behalf for he sanctity of life everywhere!

Please give us our chance to sit among the god Olympus.

We are truly good!

Do you think, perhaps, that you could endeavor to keep your maniacal, drooling jibbering confined to just one or two threads, instead of constantly creating new valueless threads in which no one but you has even the slightest interest?

Please?

You MUST convert to the ONE TRUE FAITH that is the ONLY ONE that is open-minded and inclusive. IF YOU DO NOT accept this way of LOVE and ACCEPTANCE, YOU WILL BE PUT TO THE TORCH and all your SPOOR as well!

PS, we need money, too!

And we're NOT A CULT! Those who suggest this will be killed immediately.

sex abuse

Post by Apollonaris Zeus » Fri Oct 16, 2009 8:23 am

conflicts of secular law and theology are a good example of religions that are actually political government more that a way to connect oneself to a spiritual path or knowing. Here are some examples of Orthodox Jewish communities. One should note the abuses here are no worst then the abuses one sees in all functionalist religions, except that remedies are not as successful as in the secular world and that retribution to speak out is far greater for those that do then in the secular world. Abusers continue to abuse within the community or when they move to a new community. The point is that one is no more closer to god then if they were atheists living within the secular world. And gods dictate no law, only men do!

In this first example: here are signs of corruption within the rabbinate to the point of a mafia control. The family that reports an attack on their child has their house burnt and supporters of the family are threatened including their rabbi:

IN this second, members of the community make the right decision to go right to the police:

liz, i'm talkn bout abuses in fundamentalism that act outside the public forum in many religions and how they were really legal systems and not a true path to spiritualism. A religion should not serve as a government today. In ancient history, laws were only obeyed if it carried the weight of god. Today, we know better- or I hope we do.

this is about not Israel which has it's fair share of a multitude of conflicts which arise from a fundamentalist view of its existence. We have the same sexual abuse problems in Fundamental Mormonism, Hutterites, Amish, etc. Until people speak out and ask for help from public departments, the abuse continues either in the same communities or the new communities they move into.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I always love these sort of posts as they all beg the question: "If you know the types of maniacal, drooling jibbering crap said person posts, and are not interested in them, why would you bother to even click on the link to read the post and make a comment?"

I saw Matt Lauer's interview of Dan Brown last night. I found it interesting that the founding fathers, many of whom were Masons, were deiists and not theiists. The reason for their secrecy was that the Catholic Church thought Masons were heretics and that membership in the secret society was grounds for excommunication. Principals in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution are direct teachings of the Masonic programs. State religions are by definition exclusionary and not inclusive or universal...Thus theology is the source of war. Deiism is the acknowledgement the the universe was created by God but he(or she) has no direct individual relationship. We are responsible for ourselves...

I believe you would not have to search far to find quote from many of the founders that might indicate many were not even deiists--and might even have been athiests.

it's why our building are in Greco style. there were also southern baptists which wanted protection from protestants. I forget which group wanted to be the official United States Religion!
