Heavy Metal Camp

Post by my innerself » Mon May 03, 2004 7:22 pm

Forget dance music, have a camp devoted to heavy metal, if there was a camp such as this I would be there in a snap.

Real metal or the mid-'80s Spandex-and-Aquanet Brigade?

umm, I am not sure what you mean by real metal, people's idea of metal changes all the time. But I can assure you that there would not be any of that 80's glam metal (YUCK). I would be playing stuff like Slayer, Sepultura, Machinehead, Nailbomb, Soulfly, Slipknot, FearFactory, maybe some old Metalica, maybe even some deathmetal like deicide.

Good list! :D

Don't forget: Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Voivod, Celtic Frost, Death Angel, Sepultura, Candlemass, Possessed, Testament, Faith No More, Type O Negative, maybe branch out a little into the more metal-leaning Industrial like earlier KMFDM, NIN, Neubaten, et alia...

Here's some more for the fire: I've met and/or hung out with pretty much everyone on that list except for Sabbath, Sepultura, Blue Cheer, Neubaten and NIN.

ideas

Post by VerbenaMaya » Sun May 16, 2004 11:25 am

Guess the lyrics game, utilizing some really throaty gutteral death metal music, then maybe some prizes for the person with the most creative (not necessarily correct) answers.

Screamers workshop? Sepultura comes to mind.

Heavy Metal karaoke would be fun and funny depending on the songs. I met a guy on a cruiseship doing Nickelback karaoke, said you could find
anything on the net.

Rock On & good luck with your idea

Then you might know my girlfriend, she was the lead singer for KFMDM. For some reason she refuses to watch Spinal Tap.

You could always organize a theme camp. Do something instead of bong hits on your mommy's couch.

Howdy all, I'm a metal drummer that was looking for a place to set up camp. If there were truly a metal camp, I would love to set up shop there, pounding out blastbeats for the enjoyment of all and also let folks bang around on the kit as much as they wanted.

Are we really going to get our shit together and organize a camp, or just list our favorite bands?

we need generators and a big tent

Post by Guest » Thu Jun 24, 2004 2:17 pm

ive dont the burn 5 times i havent been in a few years cause its becoming way to homoginized.. it would be the shit to make a valiant comeback with a thrashin metal camp... we would need a big truck generators and somekind of big ass ten to protect the equipment.. the elements will fuck shit up if you dont cover it... yeah i dont have a lot of euipment but i do know how to design the shit... and i have all the free time in the world to help set shit up.... i can bring food supplies and tools.. and lots of c.d's but live muisc would be better .. especially with some drums... damn... we only got 72 days.. oh i live in the northwest but it doesnt matter where you all live as long as we can communicate the logistics... it would be good to put the camp probably around the 9-12 oclock range. that area is the shit

Guest

oh the name

Post by Guest » Thu Jun 24, 2004 2:22 pm

Whoa!

Is somebody doing too many bong hits on your mommy's couch?

Personally, I don't think a bong is involved. Look at that grammar this guy's tweaking 'is brains out on something. A dissociative, by the looks of it. I'm thinkin' PHP, myself. On the plus side, he should be feelin' mighty sheepish about those posts when he comes down.

(if he comes down)
