I missed the meet-n-greet this year. In fact I missed burning man all together this year. I haven't been on the e-playa much since I knew I wouldn't be able to make it. It would just bum me out too much. I have every intention of making it next year though. On the brighter side, I did get married when BM was happening.

Oh, and I'm using a new handle now. Anyone care to guess who this is?

Chef and Islandman. ANd the picture doesnt resemble chef at all. But then again i could betotallly wrong.

Yes on the brewing
No on the making it to home brew for a home brew. They were like just up the street fromus too. Just ran out of time.

Impotent", but hastily swapped it for "Divine", which is also right-on.
When I saw that "Impotent" tag going to a newlywed I just thought "No way, no how". Then I realized I didn't want anyone to have it. It got retired.

Other tags that didn't get chosen:

"Hello I'm Dick Cheney's secret love slave"
"Hello I'm a great fuck"
"Hello I'm Anatomically Correct"

There were some great moments. The women who pulled "Hello I'm All Your Base" didn't get it but her companions broke into peals of laughter. The guys who pulled "Mr. Bill Billabina" and "Mrs. Bill Billabina" both looked at me like I was nuts - later it turned out they had been good friends for some time.

Oh, and Desert Pearll drew "Hello I'm Sexy" and kept trying to give it back! I wouldn't let her.
It's all about the squirrels.

Eplaya ReMeet and ReGreet

Post by Tiara » Tue Sep 09, 2003 4:42 pm

San Francisco Decompression will be October 12th. I would like to propose an eplaya remeet/regreet there, for all who can be geographically present. And yes, the rest of you will be there in our thoughts and hearts!

R-pod will be returning for a second year as head of Playa Dust Camp at Decompression. It should be easy to find, as we plan to reconstruct the tri-level dance floor right next to it.

Shall we plan to meet up twice during the day? Say at 4pm and at 8pm?

What do you all think?

Can't wait to see many of you in person again!!

I'm seriously thinking of attending Decompression...but flying in, then finding a place to stay is going to be expensive.....unless I could fly out the same night or something. I'd love to be able to stay a bit and rent a bike and ride over the GGB again....or find a way to really see the city.

I also want to go back to Baker Beach again...I found that after I left BM this year and it was nice to go back to where it all began.....

Anyway if anyone has ideas on how to do this beyond what I'm going to find when I pull up Expedia and Travelocity, I'd love to know....do I really have to spend $200 a night just to stay in SF? There's gotta be a way to make it to Decompression!

There are a bunch of hostels in San Francisco that are fairly cheap.

Beware, though -- some are pretty janky. It's an adventure.

I've never stayed in a hostel so I might pass on that. I'm just curious if it's worth the $350 or so for the time that it lasts....since I've never been I was hoping for enlightenment on other's experiences.

Now is when I wish I had a pilot's license and could just fly in.......

Borris, for one thing I was not feeling too hot the first few days I was out there. After training I went back to my camp and fell asleep. I lost Harriet's list, I lost everything I had printed out so I got really out of sync. When I got up and stumbled outside, someone handed me a beer and sat me down by the fire. I get to talking and next thing I know someone...who shall remain nameless put a copy of how to get laid at BM in my hands. I don't even get past looking at the cover when one of my campmates takes me by the hand and leads me out into the playa.....where we put on a nice performance between the outer road and DPW...I'm sure some LEO or anyone with nightvision got one hell of a show. So that's why I missed the meet and greet.

I also tried to meet Ivy, Tiara and R-pod helped me find her camp but she was gone. And I never made it out to find Precipitate, and I missed the Gender Bender bar. So this year kinda sucked. I plan to make up for it in 04 though....Tiara has inpsired me to try and be a Ranger next year, and I plan to be in better shape and a lot more active so I can enjoy the event. This year I was just mentally, physically, and emotionally wiped out. I got recharged though...and that's what counts.

I certainly hope you mean it sucked only in terms of attending your
scheduled events (which, if you remember, we warned you about
on the old eplaya - feel free to make a list, but don't feel obligated
to follow it).

I'm sorry I missed you. Would have been nice to have you in Blammo's
Bar & Bomb Shelter for a bit.
