I'm not seeing the playa myself, but I'm just hick from Texas.
35 degrees in Milan is 95 degrees in the US.

Well, I'm flattered.Simon of the Playa wrote:once again, fishy's logic is impeccable.
But I've been thinking about it. And you know, you're a fashion designer. You give two big presentations each year, and any one of them could break you. You spend the week before obsessively confirming every detail, or you spend the week before rolling down an astroturf covered slide?
If she was there--and it's looking like a pretty big if to me--she was on her cell phone, and sat phone and laptop and fax machine. Was she really there at all?
I think littleflower is right. It's a coded statement, meant to appeal to people of a certain mindset.

Lol, I think I used those exact words to describe fashions on the Playa this year..The seemingly simple construction – no zips, minimal seaming and a knot, a wrap or a drape as fastenings or closures – accentuated the richness of the materials. Loose mesh, embroideries with a three-dimensional weave, knots, openwork, lace, tulle and featherweight jersey all appeared in a palette that moved from sun-kissed pastels to sharper tones of lime, turquoise and metallics.
Angela Missoni's vision is in pastels and earth tones. Body suits are layered with sarongs, shawls, long flowing light coats. Bandau bindings and short sarong skirts with jeweled chokers and long tasseled schwag necklaces. Completing the look are Roman sandals, or short tan boots; along with armbands, croched handbags and string tied backpaks. Layered light cotton or silk fabrics will beat next spring and summer heat.
" Next we see Anna Maria Spagetti in tan pajama pants with a long sleeveless tunic over a silver bandau top. Completing the look with light brown medium heel booties with matching brown woven string hobo shoulder bag."- fake quote
I think the models were used to high heels not boots or sandals, which made their walks appear more natural and less catwalkish. I like the adaptations to the common Nevada braids, double pigtails converging into a single ponytail. The Milan girls had the ponytail skewed to one side making their hairstyle asymetric and more "arty".
