goodness, may I suggest, Deb,

" lighten up".........

comedy is different to everyone........
you tend to be so serious at times............all movies don't need to make a political/social statement. And, making statements doesn't make a movie necessarily good or entertaining.......

Some of us go to movies at "escape" reality and such......and, the sillier, less believable, "corny" it is, the better........good old slapstick or even British humor.........

Dougly may well like the movie, and, good for him.

*edit in retrospect, trying to make the post more friendly, and less snarky, more like a discussion between friends in a bar*

Ibarra is what has been around here for years, decades! I think they imported it from Mexico all this time. I've never had the abuelitta but 've seen it around. It's a big multi-national corporation picking up the ball after smaller concerns have created and sustained the market. I suppose it's inevitable, but I don't like it.

Beyond that none of us know????

As for the E-Eplaya bar #1, it was found to be unstable and not user friendly to those of us still using dial up in remote locations, such as homes.
From the way I read your post, it sounded like you might have repurposed the eplaya bar stuff and were rebuilding it into something bigger involving steel or something. Last I knew Mozy still had it and so I was confused a bit, that's all. As to the renaming, I'd always felt it was his to do with as he wished, so never gave it a second thought.

But the reason for moving to this thread is news to me. I don't get 'round here much so I missed that part. Thanks for clueing me in on that... it makes sense.

Piney - just got home from a late night at work. Sorry I missed you. And your soup! Stopped by and saw the last set for band Red Car Slow.

And woo hoo! Forest Griffin beat Tito Ortiz's ass!

Heeehe No prob. Risky, OEDick and Wheelgunner left about half hour after I talked to you....
Wheelgunner had to be up at 4am so it was early night for those guys.

YUM YUM coffee, and Fresh baked goodies....

You know...I never thought about a "Oven" out back....

That would be insanely cool!
BBQ to the left Oven to the right.

How sweet would it be to have fresh baked goods at the basic BBQ's!!!OMG nom nom nom.

Oh, Gawd, Ive been ignoring the eggnog, till at least sometime this week.

In the last 3 trips to market, those damn eggnog gallons have been calling out to me, and Ive stood my ground, tomorrow on the other hand is "technically" Holiday week....right?
Then all bets are OFF!

I made a huge pot of Cream of potato leek soup with bacon and chedder montery jack cheesey on top!

Yesterday just finally felt like winter. It was gorgeous outside but very nippy.

We were at Miss Velvetina and Griffy's place, with a nice big barrel fire to keep us warm, the sun was shining, and as soon as you walked out of sun beam....Burrfricken A!

Blue bunny has eggnog ice cream sandwiches now, and peppermint.

I found a recipe that used raw eggs and the whiskey, rum or brandy was the preservative, I think.
Traditional version,maybe?

George Washington had a recipe with rye whiskey, rum and sherry in it.

funny you should mention that PM.......

Looneytune built my a bbq for the mountain retreat, with smoker........now, I'm building an oven for the side, so, as the wood burns in it to make smoke, it can bake stuff...........

oven-bbq grill-smoker-griddle.........all in one........but, dang, is it heavy.........

I can come up sometime and help/advise you if you want to build a stone oven in your backyard...........I'm pretty good with rock............

Yes I know you are Ygmir!!! whakka
Our plans were to fill that silly pond idea IN. The area on the left side of the firepitt, and build the outdoor kitchen in a semi circle open towards the fire pitt.

You know counter top sink built in BBQ then...OVEN...oh yaaa...

Next spring! We're on it!

Right after we get the Green house completed. Ran out of warmer weather on that project. to cold to get the cement to set up...whoopsie.

projects projects projects...ahhh LIFE IS GOOD!

I got my first consign on costumes for this new Holiday/party season. Its a small one, but it will get them idea's rolling outa my head faster then I can get them on paper...

I already got a Yuri's/Metropolis costume designed!!!

you can add calcium chloride to concrete to get it to set up in cold, even freezing weather......but, add a little extra cement to the mix..........

I bet I know where a stone slab can be had for an outdoor counter/work top...........

I had thought of the cement counter tops....kinda a dry run for what I'd like to do in the house eventually. Saw them do it on a DIY...
Ok...
throwing a nice warm Grandmarnier into our conversation.....

I mean this is a bar...
Oh yeah, where was I....

Ive been watching too much DIY lately...heheheeee
'
But I saw them make a concrete counter in a basic mold, wipe with linseed oil, then seal with bee's wax, was pretty cool!

Yeah, I would say the biggest worry I had was the "porous issues"

porosity is a big one..........germs and stuff.........it's also soft, easily scratched, weather will deteriorate it, even if you seal it......and, whatever sealant you use, will, get into your food if you prep on the concrete.......since it can cut and flake.......and, you have to be careful with acidic stuff, even lemons (and, in lemmongrad, how could you avoid that?).

anything has its good and bad points.........

but,
granite, although somewhat porous, can be cleaned and sanitized using "anything"........chemicals won't bother it.........bleach, vinegar, ammonia, acid (well, super strong HCL or HN03 or HF will, but, who has/uses them?)

hardly able to be scratched, freeze/thaw is not an issue, super heat-sink properties, not burnable.......on and on..........

I'd use "honed finish"..........looks more natural, still pretty smooth, cleanable, but, not the polished look.......more outdoorsy, IMHO.......

(turns off stonecutter switch)

haha, I do get carried away........
