I heard that most of the money goes toward maintaining Camp #1. Jumbo shrimp and air conditioning are just the beginning. If these types of things are cut out, the tickets would probably be $150 less.
I don't know about other people, but I am waiting for the tickets to go on sale for Zacfest. I'll bet for the first few years, things could stay below the radar and BLM wouldn't even know it was taking place.

I think the price is okey dokey, especially when you consider that the longer you attend, the cheaper the "per night" cost is.
But wait!! As an added bonus you get un-limited entry into a myriad of theme camps offering the finest in adult beverages, food, sports and recreation
If you act now, we'll through in some truly wild and crazy art, and playa dust in the crack of your ass, absolutely free!!
And for a limited, online only order, truly unique swag, given to you, by a sultry participant, when you least expect it.
Don't miss out on this limited time offer, as you may already be a winner!
Internet operators are standing by, so act now.

Hey, there's another thread where you can buy a cupcake car for only $25,000.00. Maybe you should check over there too, while you're bitching.
The price is what it is. Like it or not. The choice is yours.

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I'm also a Zach and despite my handle, I'll be a willing ticket-buyer this year as a birgin.
I want to thank the folks who posted the links to the financials. Interesting reading - I had NO IDEA it cost that much to put this on. All of the time, effort & sweat....and a welcoming spirit for newbs like me to come experience your wonderful festival?
THANK YOU.
See Zac? Not hard.
Moran.

I too am shocked that we did not reply to the op's question with love and radical inclusion. After all, he did word it very sensitively. I have never seen such an outpouring of intolerance and negativity on the internet, let alone on this normally supportive forum.
Strickland Propane is proud to be supplying liquified natural gas explosive power to the art installations of the mega festival Burning Man!!!

Some of the comments have been over the top.
If you're paying for a ticket, it's more than reasonable to want to know what you're paying for.
I remember being a little shocked at the non-refundable ticket prices when I started buying them.
And very concerned about eating the ticket if I couldn't make the +4000 mile trip.
And they were around $90 or less when I started buying them.

It comes right down to what YOU feel the ticket is worth as well what BMorg thinks the market will bare. It's basic capitalism. If it costs more to produce the event than what participants feel the ticket is worth, then the even will go away.
2009 was the first year that attendance dropped. BMorg now knows where the line is that they are teetering on.

Sheez what a tool this guy is. You're paying all that money because the people at the top who organize Burning man are slowly collecting all the money they need to eventually lock us onto the playa, some say the year of 2012, and make us their eternal slaves for various sick, demented, and sexual pleasures and fetishes.

I thought the "show stopper" was something like this:Here and there wrote:all RIGHT! Can I choose which member of the LLC exploits me, or is that "being married" thing an absolute show stopper?Armand wrote:and make us their eternal slaves for various sick, demented, and sexual pleasures and fetishes.

...but it seemed like such a good idea at the time...
