i'll drink to that, too...
one of my best friend's parents were among the thousands of couples who got married on dec. 8, 1941 ... my friend, their only child, wasn't born until 1947. his father spent most of those years in the south pacific, australia, and new guinea. it's amazing how these things disrupt lives .... thank you to all who sacrifice ....

Rain here I guess. I haven't looked out yet. Speaker parts explosion containment here. I put hours into a thing that needed round cuts and new wires and some raw speakers that I invested in after much thought ... then I wired up some 3 dollar cheapie t.v. takeouts I bought on a whim. I think they sound better. LOL. Found some favorite cassettes and a walkman, listening to Gypsy Kings. great.
y'all enjoy your snow. I like how it sometimes seems so quiet when it's snowing, not loud like rain.
*pouring a cup of coffee*
littleflower, enjoy the gingerbread decorating, sounds like fun. I'm thinking of that scene in the Robin Williams Peter Pan (Hook) where the kids are all throwing gooey colored frosting stuff at each other.

Seattle is COLD and dry lately, in the teens with predicted high-temp at about freezing. I work outside a lot... everyone stuck in an office is envious in summertime, in winter it's my turn to be envious of those boxed-up folks. Fortunately I'm not outside continuously all day.

sorry Sputnik.......I guess that's a side I've not seen in you.......I'll remember, though.......hhahahaa
Hey Risky:
the icicles are probably due to less roof insulation than your neighbors......or, if they have gutters, they may be catching the runoff.....
the snow melts on the warm roof, water runs until it finds the cold again sort of thing......just a thought, anyway.
Hey there GH..........
I bet it's cold where you are.........

I hope they got the driplaps right.
They almost never do here.
That could cause the icicles to be there too, rather than running down the side of the house.

you'd be surprised.Risky wrote:But there is no warm roof!
The high is in the low 20s.
There is 14" of snow up there.
((gh))
Snow is a fair insulator, and, the heat only needs to be above freezing, at the contact between roof and snow/ice, to allow liquid water to run.....
Just a thought, but, that's the only way I can see water running down the roof in those temps......
