I was told about Burning Man a few years ago and it sounded like a fairy tale -- be naked, be covered in glitter, be in costume, be myself? Really? So I waited until I grew up a little bit (at that time I was still a very young and innocent 18) and now I'm ready to go!
In the past four years, though, I've gotten married and the hubby isn't nearly as excited for BM as I am. Does anybody have advice about dealing with reluctant loved ones?
Advice is much appreciated!

Let him not go. Maybe there's a thing he likes to do that leaves you cold, you could switch out so that you both get to do the thing you like without resentment.
Bring him, and let him be reluctant. Not party-pooping reluctant, but both of you just accept that your levels of enthusiasm are different. But it you let him be him, rather than having to mirror your state, then he's likely to feel less pressure, and the pressure is what leads to his being miserable and sharing that.
Have (a) conversation(s) about the sexual side of burningman. A 22-year-old woman, naked, is pretty much guaranteed to get a lot of attention. Is that going to be an issue? What are your limits? What are his limits for you?
You maybe should do the same for drugs. I don't do drugs out there--if something goes wrong, I've ruined an expensive vacation.
There are a lot of threads on this issue around here. Look around and see what you find.

Greetings Cal.
Dont force your hubby to go, because if he's miserable, you'll be as well. Have you started hooking up with local burners? Thought of attending a regional event or decomp first so that your hubby could get a feel for what Burning Man is like, on a smaller and less intensive scale?

Thanks so much for the advice everybody! I talked to him last night and he agreed to go but I'll still comb the forums and see what topics I can find in relation to this. And finding a local burner group seems like a good idea, anyway, since I should know for sure what I'm getting myself into.
Thanks again all!
