Damn... anyone got an extra 50k laying around?
I got a line on a big ass forklift for $20k (Hyster H210XL). I'd need another 25k for the truck to haul it.
I saw the pictures of it and this is what sprang to mind:
Build an elevator box coming off the forks and modify the hydraulics so you dump the load and have it fall fast. Build a shell around the cab and body part to resemble a carnie sideshow booth with a barker box/platform up top to have someone dressed like a ring master up there to lure people into the elevator for a ride.
Call it the thrill box or something similar.
Lots of elwire, 500 watts grinding out tinny sounding sideshow music, pyro effects off the top of the elevator box complete with a warning siren and some spinner lights. Hell, with that type of vehicle as a base, weld up a platform off the back with a stripper pole in a cage and have lots of fun.
Add in some fire performers, jugglers and such to entertain the people waiting in line. Maybe even a cotton candy cart.
Sigh....

You wouldn't really need a forklift that big, a standard warehouse-size 5 or 6k Lb. capacity lift truck will hoist a lot of people like it was nothing, and only weighs about 9000 - 10,000 pounds - can be hauled on a stout trailer behind a 3/4 or 1-ton pickup.
Modifying the hydraulics to drop the mast really fast would mean completely replacing and redesigning everything, lines, controls, etc. and would be a really bad idea anyway.
I know we're just "bench racing" but this could actually be done for a lot cheaper than that Hyster and the BIG truck it would take to carry it.

Good ideas all! Makes my little Ein Hammer accessory pale by comparison, but I'd be honored to be considered a derivative work:

Great news Cap. I was just notified in an email from Nigeria that they are transfering $250,000,000 into my checking account today. I gave them all the account, routing and pin numbers they needed, so that should be all it takes. Once the money is transfered, I will give you $50,000. After all, with $250 million, $50K is just pocket change!

I do manage to skip over "Classic Peanuts," Tundra and that one on the top left side of the comics spread in the SF Chronicle. It was pretty difficult to learn to not read Tundra. I read so fast, that I"m often to the punch line before I go "wait, I donwanna read this crap."
