This reminds me of the group of protesters that were in Gerlach this past August. I thought that they were protesting the event itself, but it turns out that they were protesting the theme---Evolution. I recall the lost, blank, distant look in their eyes. I know that they were pationate about their beliefs, but I don't think that any of them were smart enough to understand that no one was going to go home because of their placards they were holding, and no one really cared.
