Will be my 2nd time
Will be my 2nd time
Hello there,
2009 was my first Burning Man, can't wait to go again and bring my bf this time. He is not a camping person, so we are looking for RV to share.
We are flexible, easy going and fun to hang out.
Hope all of you will go and have a great time. I did.

Welcome to eplaya. I take a tent but spend only sleeping time in it, and hang out and nap in my shade tipi. For me, the idea of having a clean r.v. to go into, means having a dirty r.v. to clean up. In general, Is the non-camper's main issue about where one sleeps, or does it involve have upholstered chill space, airconditioning? and a kitchen like kitchen? just curious.joey han wrote:Hello there,

Are you looking to hook up with a camp? Just curious, as you mentioned you're 'flexible." Anyways......I was with a group that insisted on an RV. It was more problematic than a comfort. Guy who rented to us checked the air filter, and found the tell tale playa dust...extra $400. Obviously the trick is making yourself as comfortable as possible.. and it can be done with canopies and a little work. Glad you're coming back! Best of luck!
anything worth doing is worth overdoing..

Thanks! I think it will be easier to stay in RV for someone who is not not into campaing that much, especially a week in windy, dusty playa without water. There are so much to experience in BM, I don't want people to miss out because of other reason. I didn't mind the tent, a week of no shower, eat whatever is available, then everybody is different. I just want more people to feel the power of BM.

No, we are not looking for hook ups. I am flexible, but not in that way, I wish.... 8)
I know RV is costly and could be problematic. Yes, we need to consider it carefully. It is good I can get advice from everyone here.
I hope this will work out.
Thanks.

Hahahah.... "Not in that way, I wish..."
My g/f is the one who got me all ramped up and excited about BM last year but I got her into camping, so it worked out well for us!
I looove to camp - on the ground, RV, tent, hammock, shed, whatever - so I'm really psyched about setting up camp in the middle of a desert. Never camped in that type of environment!
Good luck with everything and I hope he enjoys his time! Keep us updated on what you figure out!

You know, in this day and age of people losing their asses, Joey Han, you might want to look on CL and local papers and BUY a used RV/Travel trailer.
First thing is you wont have to pay a deposite on something you own.
Second off the prices of the ones on sale is crazy cheap, as in the same it costs to rent for 1.5 weeks.
Also if you find boyfriend doesnt like the experience you can always sell it for the same thing you bought it for.
and this is purely a side note:
Dont force ANYONE to go to the event!!!!
If someone is verbally telling you why this that or those about the event is going to not make them happy...I can tell you it sounds like the person really isnt ready to go......yet.

among the others, this is a very very good advise.
