Definitely - but see the 3D version - unless you are prone to vertigo. The special effects and entertainment value are fantastic. Contrary to most science fiction movies, in this movie you will find yourself rooting for the aliens not the humans. If you look for something deeper there is an underlying hidden message, at least I think there is, of anti-war.Deb Prothero wrote:geospyder would you recommend Avatar?

a glass of wine sounds good, deb! think i'll have one too.
remember when they were colorizing old movies? one of my hollywood insider friends says that a whole bunch of stuff is about to be remade in 3-D ... even some TV shows. several companies have programs that do most of the work. they're even working on a system that won't require 3-D glasses ... who knows if that will ever work, though.
where'd that mistletoe disappear to?

I may have to read that one..........
but, why "weird" to see "us" in here?
and, are Norwegians and Pagans, mutually exclusive?..........being Danish, mostly, I am now curious.........

Not sure what Crypto's book is about but I love the Nordics and pagans here! Can't believe how much I've learned from ygmir about liqueurs, etc. I'm always running off to Wikipedia to find out something. And pagans are a natural to love - they've given some thought to what they believe and have made a choice that they can defend. Nothing irritates me more than blind faith!!!
Littleflower, I left the mistletoe on the bar. Not sure if Bin Noddin used it or just smooched!
Time for coffee!

I've also heard great things about Avatar and must go.
Smooches are great at any time of the year. A great "instrument" for peace. Hard to nuke someone you're smooching. Gets akward.
Pagans are good too. We had our annual "Pagan Tennis Match" yesterday morning. Weather was beautiful. Brought smiles to all our faces. Pagans need tennis too (and bacon)
Now to a bit of YG's excellent coffee ... reaches for cup, brushes Deb's arm, says, "well excuuuuse meeee!" does the three kiss smooch, and pours two cups of steaming brew ..... Ahhhhh, that's the way to start the day!

Deb, smooch happily received and reciprocated. Counting the days to be back on the Playa and be able to exchange some real ones complete with hugs.
Sure that the likely sleep deprived Kinetic really appreciated his Smooch as well. How's it all going dad?
To those who love opera, last night PBS did a special of 15 viewers choice best from the Metropolitan Opera hosted by Ruth Swensen. If you haven't seen it, look for the reruns. Really fabulous. They also did a cinematic version of La Boheme the other night and it too was really wonderful. Even if you don't know, or think you don't like, opera this could be a game changer for you.
Good to have you back here, Deb Have a wonderful weekend!

Isn't there a new movie out about the young queen Victoria?Ugly Dougly wrote:We're going to drag dad to see Avatar.
I just now catching up on my viewing. Recently saw District 9. Great fun.
By the way, what's a good first-run historical chick flick?
Here's your Viking movie:
